I CAN'T STAND dentistry in the US ALMOST as much as I can't stand Dental insurance in the US......

$45.00 PER tooth for filling work.. as a co-pay?? Geepers creepers!!!

Hubby's paying $500.00 for a CROWN next week (we already paid over a thousand dollars for the root canal)..

GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!

Now that is a ripoff, I've been looking into dental here and been kinda scared off by most plans for that reason.

We just forked over $1200 for a crown for the wife!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

That is why you guys need to get state jobs. Best health care out there. For fillings I don't pay a thing!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

my wife has an excellent Federal gov't job. We just didn't take the dental coverage, as when we crunched the #'s wasn't worth it. Both of us normally never have dental probs, lol

My mother in law was just here last month for over 2 weeks. Now she is already planning to come back on the 19th of this month. :girlwerewolf2xn:

OMG, I would kill somebody if my MIL spent that much time with us. I told my husband and my SIL last week that there is no way on God's green earth that I would let their mother live with us. Just thought I should give them fair warning. (Can you tell I've just spent a week with them at the beach?)

She moved from Houston to Atlanta to live with her daughter. Thank god not here with us (did I just type that?) My mother in law is diabetic and her daughter is pretty strict with her on her diet, etc. I think she likes the freedom to do what she wants and eat what she wants when she is here. She never used to come this often when she lived in Houston. And Houston was a much shorter drive.

I wish it was that way with all state jobs. I have a state job, family dental, and I still have to pay for fillings. Copay is like $50. All my old fillings are beginning to need replacing...now there's some good news. NOT. The only way we can afford to have good quality dentistry is for both of us to have family dental plans...and our daughter will be going into braces soon.

I'm sorry if I insult anyone.

That is not my intention.

Here's my vent:

What's the deal with thinking god had anything to do with getting a visa?!

No need to answer.

Really.

I just needed to put that in writing.

You will do foolish things.

Do them with enthusiasm!!

Don't just do something. Sit there.

And Cooper chewed up another new toothbrush of mine. I have none left now. I still have my sonicare but I still like a regular toothbrush when I want to freshen up quickly.

Register here on the National Do Not Call Registry. You will still get calls from charities and from political campaigners but the other '#######' should stop. https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

If it doesn't stop, then you can report them. If you are not sure who it is you can look up who it is and if other's have complained, here: http://whocalled.us/

And, if you want to know if it is a decent charity and one you might want to consider, you can investigate them here on the Charity Navigator: http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=topten

I noticed a substantial decrease in nuisance and solicitation calls after we registered. Good luck.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thanks!! I'm registered and just waiting for the confirmation email.
