Good luck with HR. One thing I just thought of (you may have already done this) ... ask your doctor or a mental health therapist (if you see one) to complete a FMLA leave request for you. I have done several for clients (I'm a mental health therapist) ... some when they absolutely needed to be on leave for a bit due to their disabilities, but I have also done a couple for clients because their HR department just wanted to have documentation on file that they MAY need time off periodically for appointments and such.

I don't qualify for FMLA yet because I haven't been there for over a year.

Ok - another thing that bugs me here . . . why is it when you buy a 6 oz can of tuna you only get enough tuna to make one sandwich? I was always able to get at least 2 decent sandwiches out of a tin of tuna back home. Well, today I decided to find out - I weighed the can - 6 oz. I drained off the fluid and weighed the can again - 3 oz! I took out the tuna and weighed the can again - 1 oz. So, when you buy a 6 oz can of tuna you actually only get 2 oz of tuna.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I've noticed the same thing. It used to be you would get 6 1/4 oz. in a tuna can. Just like with granulated sugar...I've not used it in so long and when I went to buy a "5lb" bag, I discover there are no longer any 5lb bags - at least not where I shop! *sigh*

The swines! :protest:

I usually buy the packaged tuna. No tins, no liquid, no mess.... easy for on the road or lunches. I do like the tinned tuna in oil when I'm making a certain Italian salad with chickpeas, though. But if I can't find it I'll just add oil to the recipe and it's all good. :)

At the ripe old age of 12 Miss Chipper has turned into a freaking howler monkey. She is howling every chance she gets lately and making mommy insane.

Poopy box is clean, beds are clean, access to water, dish is full, she just had a check-up and is fine. She's testing mom's love.

And she just gave mom a kiss and lick and we're good again . . . . sigh.

I am so ticked

hubby was looking for something to eat the other day and decided on nachos and asked if he could borrow some of my cheese whiz... I didn't see how much he took but I figured he would only need a small amount... well, I go and make myself some toast today and I notice that my jar of cheese whiz is half empty now :crying: I have been using it somewhat sparingly so it will last longer.... he knows how much that cheese whiz means to me.. how could he do that??? !!!! :P

So what are you asking for marilyn? I bet if you look on Craigslist you could order a hit on him! Not a complete hit, just someone to rough him up a bit! lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

complete hit would solve the cheese whiz thievery problem for good though....

Not sure how cost effective that would be? A complete hit would cost many thousands of $$$, a roughing up may cost ya a case of beer! So with the $$ saved, she can purchase cases of cheese whiz, and not worry about going to jail!
