Sheesh. Confusion, annoyance, bleh-blah-ness.

The waltzing secretary is not in today.... OR tomorrow :protest:. He is, "sick", and got his dates for physical therapy "confused" - douchebag. And then he wonders why the boss wants him outta here. I am not pleased to cover for his sorry azz (i.e. answer phones) while he is "sick", more often than not. I do not like people with poor work ethics

Or maybe I'm just b1tchy because I went decaf. Is headache and irritability signs of caffeine withdrawal?

Ok, smoking time now.

The caffeine withdrawal headache is not to be underestimated! ouch!

You need to wean yourself off the regular slowly. Time for 1/2 a cup of REAL coffee for you

Sign that made me laugh most in public...it was stuck in back of a huge espresso/cappuccino machine in a café in Granville Island Market:

"Unattended children will be sold as sandwiches."

I just about died.

 What did the sandwiches taste like?

Ah, yes, addictions.

We all have something don't we.

I have been busily studying myself.

The Ego, that thinks it needs this and that and then "we" will be happy (my, myself and I).

Then you get "there" and The Ego needs something more.

Oh more more more...the human condition.

Hmmm...very introspective these days...again.

Come on Spring and get me outside damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah yes, and there is no great outdoors here in this big city.

I must go exploring and find some quiet place by the Lake where I can summon/inspire the serendipity goddesses & gods to come out and play.

Good news, bad news.

What is the difference except what your mind makes it to be?

Chew on that for a bit sweeties. :luv:

Zen and the art of Snow Blower Maintenance? I've read quite enough of that this winter. :P It's not your ego that is going crazy but the monsters from your id, why quibble over details. Once again, you delight, you bring joy.

Thank you.

The waltzing secretary just walked in. B1tching about our boss, yada yada yada. WHY oh WHY do I need to hear all his cr@p? Who cares? If he can't handle his job, he should get another one, or file for disability (he swears he has fibromyalgia, which mamma in law who is 65 also has, and she never misses work or projects she's on )or God knows what; but his eternal whining is so freaking annoying it does not contribute a bit to my withdrawal headache. We all have the same boss, and the only one who complains about her is the waltzer. Go figure....

This is a tiny bitty department, and things for the most part are cool as cukes... enter the waltzer and the ####### hits the fan.

Not pleased.

Sounds like Waltzing Matilda is a real piece of work. :crying: Unfortunately he pulls this ####### around women because he knows he has an audieince. The only whine men are interested in, is the one a supercharger makes. Women are better listeners in general but this guy's just abusing the process and taking advantage of the kindness and sympathy of the office. I hope your boss figures out a way to send him somewhere more appropriate, maybe the Huskies need a tackling dummy?

Ugh, poor Len. *hug*

I've been browsing jobs on Craigslist Philly all day - found a couple of winners, but I'm really hesitant to apply to them until I get my resume looked at by the hubby (thanks for offering, Spirit! I might take you up on it!). Other ads I've been hemming and hawing over because they sound... um, sketchy, for lack of a better word. I'm not keen on doing any marketing whatsoever (I'm a shy lass, I am) and the ads that are promising entry-level positions to gain experience sound close enough to that. I know I sound picky

On top of that, I have to find a job which allows me to commute through either SEPTA train into the city, or by foot. Hard to find such a job when you live in the 'burbs and everything is dependent on the car <_<

Dear Darling Len,

I dug up a story for you AND for anyone else who may be having a challenging time with a situation in their lives at the moment.

Get comfortable.

Breathe.

Enjoy.

:star:

A Cherokee Legend

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on

inside me," he said to the boy.

"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is

anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment,

inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The

other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness,

benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same

fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,

"Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Here is the same story, but it is called "Grandfather Tells" which is also

known as

The Wolves Within

An old Grandfather said to his grandson, who came to him with anger at a

friend who had done him an injustice, "Let me tell you a story.

I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those that have taken so much,

with no sorrow for what they do.

But hate wears you down, and does not hurt your enemy. It is like taking

poison and wishing your enemy would die. I have struggled with these

feelings many times." He continued, "It is as if there are two wolves inside

me. One is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him,

and does not take offense when no offense was intended. He will only fight

when it is right to do so, and in the right way.

But the other wolf, ah! He is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him

into a fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He

cannot think because his anger and hate are so great. It is helpless

anger, for his anger will change nothing.

Sometimes, it is hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of

them try to dominate my spirit."

The boy looked intently into his Grandfather's eyes and asked, "Which one

wins, Grandfather?"

The Grandfather smiled and quietly said, "The one I feed."
