Visiting Canada

My wife is currently in New York with her K1 visa. In fact, she is going through the Adjustment of Status process right now.

Can she travel to Canada or does she need special aproval? I am wondering restrictions on travel to Canada is less strict...

She would need Advanced Parole for traveling before finishing AOS I think... the rules are the same for all countries when it comes to this traveling stuff I reckon.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter whether you're going to Canada or Congo, you will need Advance Parole to re-enter the US if you leave before having your green card.

My husband and I have been discussing this as well. Does anyone have any information on traveling to Canada with a GC? I read somewhere a long time ago that you have to have a passport to go to Canada, even by car now. Is that true? If he doesn't have a US passport would that mean he would need a visa? What about my kids? Can we not take them over the border without passports even if we show their birth certificates?

Need 2 things:

1) AP document in hand (I-131) with out it a K-1 leaving the country is considered to be abandoning the AOS process.

2) Some need a visitor's visa to visit Canada, but people from the Republic of Korea do not. http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/visit/visas.asp
