What to expect after NOA1 and before NOA2 is received???

Good day everyone!

Any information please... This has been our concern for the past weeks. My fiance and I want to know if we shoud expect to hear from USCIS before the approval notice or the receipt of NOA2. I mean any form of communication at all like mail from the post, a request for something, or an email asking for just anything. Coz we're getting paranoid that USCIS ask something from us but didn't get to receive it.

What we want to know is that after NOA1, and if there's no RFE's at all, is NOA2 the next thing we'll hear from USCIS?

Pretty much, yep! Unless they send you an RFE asking for more information, you won't hear anything at all until you get NOA2. People look at their status online several times a day to see if it's been updated and the date changes, then they know that it's been touched even if it hasn't been approved or an RFE hasn't been issued. Otherwise, no way to know what's going on. You can call the customer service line, but depending on who you get on the phone is the answer....some will tell you one thing and someone else will tell you something different on the same day. It's stressful, but it's basically waiting in the dark patiently for someone to turn on the light.

This is correct. The USCIS won't contact you until they approve your petition, unless there is an RFE. You can register online to keep track of any touches and that'll give you an idea of whether they've handled your case or not. But for the most part, you wait in agony for months until they approve you.

Create a portfolio on USCIS's website. And use the receipt number from your NOA1. add it to your portfolio and you will be notified each time something has changed with your case. Other than that, expect to wait anywhere from 4-6 months. Good luck!!!

Once you get the approval NOA from the service center your petition will go to the NVC where your case number will be assigned. MNL2007501001 as an example. The 501 is the julian date plus 500 so in this case it would represent January first. The 001 is the number of the case processed that day for Manila. In this example it would be the first case of January 1st for Manila.

The NVC will then send the packet to Manila who will process it and send the forms packet to the beneficiary and schedule the interview and medical. Good luck

Its about 4-6 months now. All the people who tried to beat the fee increase really put glue in the system.
