My husband and I got our "Step Two" packet from the embassy this morning! They told us at our petition interview that it would take 2-3 weeks to get it, but it came in only one week! :D I also emailed the embassy and got a response in just one day!

Perhaps the embassy is finally kicking into gear? Ishallah this is a sign of speedy work to come! I hope everyone sees similar results!

I think it's called "Packet 3" on here. Since we're doing DCF and not going through USCIS, I wasn't sure exactly what to call it. It's the I-864, DS-230, and all that stuff that has to be mailed to the embassy before they schedule a visa interview.

Nice!

I didn't get that (by email by the way) until I sent in a request for extension on our approval bc it was taking so long :)

Lets get some interview scheduled!!:dance::dance:

Hi did was it ok tell them you guys met on the internet when you originally filed ???

The CO did not seem to have a problem with our meeting online, especially when I pulled out a stack of emails going back to 2004. He just asked me where online, what chatroom, etc. I think it might have been a bigger problem though if I hadn't been living in Egypt for six months before we applied. Back when my husband and I first got married I had to go to the embassy to get a letter of approval for our marriage. I told them then that we met online and they didn't seem to have a problem with it then either.

However, I'm sure that every embassy is different in how they handle these types of things and I think it also makes a difference whether you apply from the US through USCIS or whether you file directly with the embassy. Talk to other Ghana filers here on VJ and see what they say. I'm sure they can help you far more than I can.

Good luck to you in your process!
