We have tickets to see The Hip at the House of Blues in New Orleans on Saturday night!!

I'm excited to go see them- especially at a smaller venue. I'm gonna try to suck up to whoever works for them, say I'm Canadian and ask if I can meet them after the show. :)

I'm also curious to see if they will play New Orleans is Sinking.

Super band!!! There in DC next Friday!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Yay Stacey ! :halloween:

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

*sigh* I am SO JEALOUS of you Stacey!!!! Das Hip are awesome awesome awesome live!!!!

I saw them play in Halifax, and our seats were to the left of the stage, up a smidge, with a perfect view of my boy, Johnnie Fay. They were in the middle of their first encore, and all of a sudden Johnnie gets up and leaves the stage, while Gordie was riffing on something, and he's gone for a good five minutes, but gets back right on time to start in where he was supposed to when the song starts back up again. I always wonder what he was doing....!

But I digress. Love love love the Hip and I miss their concerts so much. Gotta convince them to come to OK!

Enjoy!!!

I saw them in Moncton once they were opening for the Rolling Stones..

I've not really been exposed to them a whole lot so there was a lot of their "show" that I didn't get, but I learned one thing..

A hip fan.. is a TRUE fan..

WOWZERS..

I salute you :)

hoping the hubby gets a bit more excited than he sounded when he called to let me know. i guess he came home at lunch and saw the site about it on the computer and put 2 and 2 together and ordered the tickets. :D (he shouldn't be too grumpy as it looks like he didn't go back to work either!)
