Hi everyone!

My fiance and I are a little confused.

We got our interview letter today (yay!!) but on the letter it says that the visa is only valid for 4 months and not the 6 months that is quoted everywhere else.

Is this a typo?

Can people who got the K-1 from Ghana please let us know how long their visas were valid for?

Thanks!!!

ZeeNusah,

Are you certain the letter is speaking of the Visa and not the Approval Notice? The visa (once it is issued is valid for 6 months - 6 months from issue to enter the US)... An approval notice usually will have an expiration date similar to what you wrote (which can be extended by the consulate/embassy if interview schedules, etc. are taking longer)

Congrats Zeenusah on receiving the interview letter...what other vjers have mentioned is that letter which mentions has a 4 months expiration date is the amount of time that the letter is valid for your fiance to book an interview date, if he has not yet set a date for the interview....Good luck and hope all continues to go smoothly with the visa process!!!

March 8, 2010 N-400 priority filing date
