At least you don't have to worry about the approval  You know you got it, it's just a formality!

So I'm going to go forward and tell you Congrats for the approval! See it as a delay in getting you Visa, you are approved :)

I'm sorry it happened, knowing the feelings you had, but now you can use the time remaining just a few weeks to prepare for the get gone move to your new home, this also gives your fiancée time to clean the house and wash the windows. The other good thing is that you know you will be there well before the end of November.

Take care and use the time to make sure you are ready materially for the move.

Ron

Sorry to hear about your delays but congrats on your interview! What did you say when asked what your fiance feels about u being a canadian? That WAS a weird question....

I think I said something like "Oh, he loves Canada!" What would the right response to that question be? "He likes how I say out and about and call a winter hat a toque?"

Very strange...

Thanks to everyone for their support and good wishes. I'm feeling much better today. I had my cry and I'm trying to think positive thoughts. My job was fine with me staying on longer and everyone has promised to still come to the wedding whenever that might be. Really my main concern is that because the certificate request is generated by Montreal and then sent back to them I have no way of tracking whether it's been received, processed etc. and we all know how good they are with correspondence.

I figure all I can do is stay on top of things by emailing them regularly to check the status and trying to get in touch with the U.S. consulate in New Zealand. According to the review on VJ they don't answer emails (but do answer the phone!) but the turn around time for an interview is only 1 - 3 weeks! So maybe this means that they're ultra efficient.

Finger's crossed!

Thanks Ron. That's exactly what I intend to do! It was actually very sweet when I spoke to the boy last night he was saying how sad he was that I wouldn't be able to come when we'd planned and that he'd already rearranged the bedroom in anticipation of my arrival. I asked what he'd done and he said he'd moved the tv so you could watch it from the bed so that when he's busy watching football I can watch what I want in the other room! He's not a big talker so that silly gesture actually meant a tonne.

I’m glad that things worked out with your job and with your fiancé getting ready for your arrival even though I’m not too sure he will be watch football alone very often, he will have to teach you about the game as you will have to teach him about some of your interest also.

Take care and let time fly.
