Ok so who has any good wedding tips? I've learned a few over the years...the dumbest one being make sure the groom takes the price tag off the bottom of his shoes if you're gonna be kneeling at all during the ceremoney.

I have no other tips, so to all of you who have picked up a trick or two...how about some help?!?!

Got a few...

Don't let your MIL and/or SIL try to rule who you invite and who you don't, what you have as a meal or whether you use fake or natural flowers... Is your day so do what you like...

Hold on to whomever is going to walk you down the isle as hard as you can, as soon as you start walking you feel your legs giving way! :o

Get as much help from your mum as you can, I couldn't have it as she was on the other side of the world, but I needed her support so much, and she knew it, so she was (or shall I say) they were there for me all along! :luv:

Use waterproof mascara, you might shed some tears :crying: , you need to keep your make-up nice and tidy...

Choose comfortable shoes... A comfortable dress and a have a backup outfit just in case...

Don't get too drunk, you may want to save some for when you get to your room and have a bottle of champers!

Think that's it, but should any more come up, will let you know!! :D

Don't lock your knees while you're standing up there (no fainting brides or grooms please)!

But the main one - make sure you're REALLY sure that this is the right person, and don't be afraid to call it off if you think otherwise. Been there, done that, don't want others to repeat it.

That is all.

1. Drink plenty, plenty, plenty of water from at least six weeks before the big day. Very good for the skin.

2. Use big cards on guest tables instead of one standard-issue guest book. You won't get a line of people waiting to sign the book. And guests sitting at their tables will actually take the time to doodle next to their congratulatory wishes. Made ours so special. We had flowers, funny faces, and a cat or two (I think it was a cat).

3. Silk flowers rule.

I went to a really funky wedding of two good friends from college who used fishbowls, with real fish, as centerpieces and had us take all the pictures with disposable cameras left on each table. The bride also had the bridesmaids carry little candle glasses with tea lights in them (it was a nighttime fall wedding) instead of flowers, which looked really pretty and different.

Abby (U.S.) and Ewen (Scotland): We laughed. We cried. Our witness didn't speak English. Happily married (finally), 27 December 2006.

Latest news: Green card received 16 April 2007. USCIS-free until 3 January 2009! Eligible to naturalize 3 April 2010.

Just don't use two Bettas :D

I have two friends who had their guests sign the border around what would be their wedding frame...you know that matte thing inside the frame? So then they hung their pic in it, and it has all these well wishes & stuff....looks kinda cool!

- Disposable cameras SOUND like a good idea, but when you get back perhaps 30 pictures from 12 cameras, one tends to get cranky! We had loads of crappy pictures that were a waste.

- Instead of standard table numbers to let folks know where they are sitting, be a little creative. Since we met through a music chatroom, we named our tables from band names and used cd's that I printed myself to designate the tables and the seating chart was also done with printed cd's.

- make sure you you really love your photographer. I hated ours, but had to rely on my future SIL and MIL to pick the photographer because the wedding was in the UK and I was planning so much of it already from home. She absolutely stunk and I paid over $400 for just about 25 8 x 10 pics. That's all I have that was taken professionally and it just kills me now. :crying: She tride to force me to go stand outside when it was misting and thank god I had my mother next to me saying IF SHE DOESN'T WANT TO GO OUT, SHE'S NOT GOING OUT!!! I love my mum! :luv: But then the photographer mumbled that she didn't have good lighting inside...well, f'ing hell, that's not my problem that you don't bring proper lighting with you....but in the end, it WAS my problem as I got crappy pics. I had to personally crop all the pictures myself. When we went outside after the misting had stopped, she had a fake turf thingie for us to stand on so our shoes wouldn't get messed up....but don't you know...it's in some of the pictures....:angry::angry::angry::angry: MAKE SURE YOU LOVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER!!! I have approximately only 5 pictures of the wedding that I really like...and none that I love. :crying::crying::crying:

- If you can find a hairstylist and makeup artist to come to YOU, do it!!!! It's worth it to not have to go anywhere the morning of the wedding....just be pampered either at home or where you are getting married. I stayed at the lodge where our wedding was, the night before the wedding and had a makeup artist come to me. She was fantastic...and if you can find someone who specializes in bridal parties, even better, because they are use to the frantic bride syndrome. I was crying when my makeup artist came in my room, because I'd stupidly just burned a teeny hole in my dress (see next item) and she got me a drink, calmed my nerves, got me a cool towel to put on my face and generally put me a lot at ease. She also assured me that the teeny hole in my dress wasn't visible. It wasn't.

- Don't burn a hole in your dress. The reason this happened was because I carted the dress across the ocean, and in the short time I had before the wedding, couldn't find a cleaners that would press the dress in time. I ironed the dress myself and the day of the wedding decided it needed just a final touch....thing was the iron was a tad too hot. The hole was so small though and down at the bottom, so not noticeable, especially since it had two layers of chiffon underneath it.

I'm sure I'll think of more.....stay tuned.
