Contacting your senator

I just faxed my senator and then I called and asked for a confirmation that they received my fax. The woman told me to hold on but put me on voicemail so I left my name and number and requested that they call to confirm receipt.

No phonecall so far.....

What normally happens after you send them the request?

i did few weeks ago sent both to the office here and washington, didnt think i was going to get a answer so sent again, the i got email from them. guess i just wasnt giving them time to do what i had ask but they are usually good to return with answers

My senators office said that it is busy with congressional requests. You will be assigned a "case worker" and that person will respond. If I were you and haven't heard in a week, I'd resend with signature confirmation. Call back, get the name of the person assigned to your case...the name of who you speak to. Follow up...follow up...follow up...and Id ask them what the next step is. Dont let them take their time. They are paid by YOUR tax dollars...

Can't you print up a fax transmission slip on your own fax machine? Usually those have the date, time, fax number and pages sent with a confirmation the fax was received on their end. I do this whenever a business disputes they received a fax from me. I show them the faxcimile confirmation page.

Yes but I don't know how. I work in a HUGE office so that machine is constantly chugging along. I will try to figure it out tonight.

They usually have someone assigned to this type of inquiry. Most threads I have read reported being contacted within just a few days. Good luck

I guess you have print out a transmission report and visually search the page for the specific transmission. I work as an administrative assistant and so I probably know more about this.
