Documents to be sent to Fiancee for the Visa Interview

Timeline

I understand that the latest tax returns and W2 forms need to be sent. Does that mean Original Tax return forms or just notarized copies? Thanks.

Removing Conditions (I-751) :

Mar 25, 2010 : Mailed I-751 to CSC

Mar 27, 2010 : CSC receives package

Mar 29, 2010: NOA

May 7, 2010: Biometrics Appointment

July 1, 2010: GC Received

AOS :

Feb 5, 2008 : Filed for AOS, EAD, AP

Feb 6, 2008 : Chicago Office receives the package

Feb 11, 2008 : Receipt Date for AOS, EAD, AP

Feb 12, 2008 : Checks cashed

Feb 14, 2008 : Received the Hard Copy of the Receipts for AOS, EAD, AP

Feb 28, 2008 : Biometrics Appointment

Feb 29, 2008 : Case Transferred to CSC

Mar 17, 2008 : AOS Touched (Case pending at CSC)

Mar 18, 2008 : AOS Touched

Mar 19, 2008 : AOS Touched

Apr 17, 2008 : Received AP and EAD

Apr 29, 2008 : AOS Touched

May 7, 2008 : AOS Touched

May 8, 2008 : AOS Touched

May 14, 2008: AOS Approved!!!

May 21, 2008: Received GreenCard (2 year validity)

I would assume notarized copies(of the 1040 anyway) would be OK since you would have sent it to the IRS already, right? I always end up with an extra copy of the W-2 so I would send the original of that.

tax forms dont need to be notarized. if you include a copy of your W2 along with plain/clear copies of your tax retuns, that should be okay.

this is what we did:

- copies of my tax returns + W2(original, b/c at my work I can obtain new copies of W2)

- gave my wife the IRS transcripts(I told her to take it to the interview, just incase officer had any

question regarding taxes..then she could show them IRS transcirpt which would validate information

on tax returns.

5/31/2007 -- wife sent in packet 3

6/15/2007 -- wife received packet 4

8/23/2007 -- INTERVIEW DATE wohooooo + got K3 visa on 23rd :)

9/03/2007 -- sweetheart is here in US

AOS - EAD

9/17/2007 -- AOS/EAD package sent to chicago lock box

9/26/2007 -- NOA 1s for 485 & EAD

10/1/2007 -- biometrics appt letter received

10/13/2007 -- fingerprinting....speed it up guys..

11/28/2007 -- card production ordered - EAD

03/04/2008 -- final interview for greeen card :)

I just send my tax returns that my accountant made for me. Seemed to work just fine :thumbs:
