My fiance had the first interview 10/3, they said they wanted more evidence of the relationship and told him to come back 10/10, sent him more stuff, he got more stuff he had, he went to the second interview and they keep his passport say they'll get back to him in a couple of days, it's been a couple of days so we email to find out what's going on, they respond that in their data base his interview was on 10/3 and they wanted more information, so I emailed back to find out what more they need after the 10/10 evidence and I get an automatic response that they are out of the office???????????? What am I supposed to do now?????? Call, Not call, check into a psychiatric hospital, throw up, get an attorney?????? who knows. If anyone has any words of wisdom or just some positive comments, I'm in the need of some.

Lennon,

I am sorry to hear that you are feeling overwhelmed at this time with what little information you are getting from your consulate/embassy. I am not familiar with Bolivia and can only give you some words that may be reassuring during this time. First off visa's are slow to be issued from the consulate my husband came from and they take the passports and say they will contact you in a certain time frame and it is never done within the specified time. They are overworked and understaffed, security checks take time and then they may want to check things out further and this is called AP/AR (Administrative Processing/Administrative Review) and it has no time limit. Secondly, right now the visa lottery, end of the government physical year is happening shortly so they tend to slow processing for a short time, and thirdly holidays. Here is a list of holidays for your consulate.

Columbus Day October 8

All Saints Day November 2

Veteran's Day November 12

Thanksgiving Day

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

I suggest you contact DOS and ask them for an update and then see if they tell you if you are in AP/AR. If so just be patient and hopefully it will not take too much longer to get your visa. Good luck.

Mary

DOS aka: Department of State

DOS phone number 202 663 1225 ( press 1, 0)

All they will tell you is that your case is still in AP/AR. There is no

timetable of when it will be complete.

Keep checking for your case status every 2-3 weeks.
