Stina/Suj...your dress is gorg....do you have any color pics of the big day that you can post?

thanks! I have to find our CD with all our wedding pics on it, but here is one! I used the scarf, or dupatta as it's called, as a veil. Boy was that thing heavy, because of the gold thread/beading on it. We attached it to a tiara and while wearing it, it was pretty heavy so we pinned part of the dupatta to the back of my top to keep some of the weight off of pulling my head back. After the ceremony I took it off.

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Love the thread - you all look beautiful, ladies!

Lynne, do the ethnic dress, it will look stunning on you!

LisaD - that dress is in my top 10 too! With the read seam too! I LOVE the lacing in the back.

I haven't made a final decision on the dress yet, right now I'm tending to more formal dresses again (last week I was thinking I'd do a hippy/ gypsy style but as much as I love those dresses, it just "isn't me").

So, here's what I plan to do:

528_13329_large.jpg

7013_1.jpg

611J_front.jpg

The dress should be long, a-line and have a satin sash in a fuchsia/ pink tone. No veil, only a big flower in my hair that has the same color like the sash (pretty much like in the first pic). If I'll wear a jacket thingy like in the 3rd pic will depend on my arms (if I get them back in shape, then I won't wear one, if they stay as flabby as they are, I will). #1 is my favourite, definitely.

Keep the pics coming, ladies!

We are planning our wedding ceremony in the coming May and I already bought my gown (David's bridal as well) I just fell in love with it!

Please have a look at it :)

Now that one is gorguos, that is somethng like i was looking for i love the corset looking top half. I cant decide what to wear - besides i was going to bu my dress when i get over to the states but as i dont know the places I will have to go shopping with david's mum or maybe even his two cousins who are more my age well younger lol. I am indian so I was thinking about wearing my cultural Sari buit then I will definatley look different, but then again I didnt want a big fuss for the weddig as i have been married before but David hasnt so we decided we will have a small civil cermony and a party afterwards. But after seeing his best friend's mum and dad's place OMG I want an outside wedding. They have a large plot of land with a little lake on it and woods surrounding although I saw it in christmas with the snow all over it still looked so beautiful. But again now it depends on when we get our visa and when i can finally sell my house here in UK, and depending on the weather:( so it is very hard to make any plans yet :(

All the wedding dresses here looks lovely!

This is what I wore on our civil ceremony. I brought this from home and also had brought 'the white version of it' for the church ceremony which we haven't done yet.

Cheers,

Maureen

this was my dress -- not me in it, but I don't have a good close up one that shows the detail on it -- I looked better in it than the model :P

http://www.alfredangeloca.com/index.cfm/fu...22-6fec77b3d187

(hopefully this works!)

You can see me in it in the photos I posted in the VJ gallery. I love that dress -- I never thought I would find something perfect -- I actually felt princessy -- me! princessy! It's miraculous! :P

Cassie, that dress was actually one of my finalists...I really loved the design, but couldn't get comfortable with the netting and stiffness underneath the top layer.... :( It would have been too warm for ME for my July wedding...so I went with the light chiffon. I would have never made a good South'ren belle with all their hoops and petticoats...hehehe... It's a beautiful gown!

I DID feel like a princess in mine too though. Every woman should experience that feeling, no matter what it is that makes you feel that way.

what's ironic about that....we were married at the Southern Belle Mansion :P I must admit, I groaned out loud when I heard the name of it -- kinda of a cliche....but when I saw it, I soon shut up -- it was SO beautiful, inside and outside.

The day we went to look at dresses, I had my aunt and my mom with me, and I was nervous big time. I was afraid I wouldn't find something that would fit AND look good at the same time (AKA the "big girl" nightmare :P). So I tried on a bunch, and had it narrowed down to one, until another girl walked by wearing that dress, but in ivory. I could hear my mom and Susan saying to the owner of the shop "oh, do you have THAT dress?" She looked, found one, and the rest is history. The girl with the ivory dress was getting married on October 16 -- our original wedding date -- so we had a good laugh about that.

And Frances -- imagine lugging that dress through customs at three airports!! That sucker was heavy! but definitely worth it.

Thanks guys!!! This dress has been the only thing in life me and my mum have a agreed on!!! When I showed her the pic she absolutely loved it as well.... Got it from Alfred Angelo if anyone is interested in knowing....

I tried on that one, but with the long sleeved version of the lace jacket overlay. It didn't suit me, but you look fantastic in it!!!
