I didn't order from there but it's very close to my outfit that I found when googling. Sujeet got mine made for $200!! He found a nice dress store in India that was having a 50% off sale. The fabric was there then they would actually make the outfit according to the measurements. Then he bargained down the price even further. The dress if bought in the US would have cost atleast $800.

Funny thing about my dress. I never tried it on before the wedding. We eloped and I planned our nuptuals in less than 2 weeks, ordered that from Nordstrom.com and prayed with all my might that it would fit. LOL!!!

Married 12-30-05

Started our visa journey Jan 06.

01-06 - I-130, K3 shortly after

04-06 - switched to Canada Immigration

07-06 - Moved to Canada (PR almost complete)

07-06 - Changed again, back to US imm.

09-06 - Landed as Canadian PR

10-06 - DCF Toronto, Approved in 1.5 hrs!

11-06 - Interview Montreal (success!)

I-130

10-05-06 DCF in Toronto - Approved

10-19-06 Packet 3 received & sent back

10-20-06 Montreal receives P3

11-03-06 Packet 4 received

11-06-06 Medical

11-22-06 Interview / Visa approved

11-26-06 heading home, 6 day drive, my oh my

HOME SWEET HOME

10.24.08 - Mailed I-751 to CSC

Delivered at 9:03 AM on October 25, 2008

10.29.08 NOA1

10.30.08 Check cashed

12.06.08 Biometrics Appt.

12.19.08 Received new Drivers License extended to 2011

03.12.09 Received CONGRATULATIONS letter - Card on the way!!

03.20.09 Received his SHINY new card. WOO HOOOOOOO

YAY!! We can take a break from this madness until Citizenship.

US Chick married to a CDN Dude!

Got married in Las Vegas 12/11/01

Filled out I-130 2/15/02

Filled out I-129F 2/22/02

I-130 was approved 10/22/02

Was out of work for 6 months :( Immigration process was at a stand still thanks to this

Got his EAD and SSN in February 2003

Job market sucked, he couldn't get a job in the US so no AOS

9/8/04 :( DH moved back to Canada K-3 expired

End of 2004, now have job and salary to satisfy affadavit of support (YAY!)

in the wee hours of 6/1 Fire was lit under our butts! (Don't ask!) :(

Visa bill mailed on 6/3

Visa bill received on 6/7

I-864 stuff was sent via overnight mail on 6/14!

Information packet and docs generated 6/20/05

I rec'd the DS-230 packet on 7/26

Sent ds-230 via express mail 8/13

9/15/05 CASE COMPLETED!!!!!!!

10/6/05 Case sent to consulate

10/27/05 Medical Exam ...was marked incomplete

11/10/05 New Medical Exam letter issued! YAY!

11/15/05 Interview--APPROVED BABY!

4/30/06 Activated IR-1 Visa at the Pacific Hwy Crossing in Blaine, WA

5/12/06 Dave Received the Welcome to the US letter...

5/31 Green Card arrived in the mail! Also got 2 more welcome letters!

Dave's company has transferred him 7/6!

Started his position in Bay Area, CA on 8/14!

i wanna post my wedding dress pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :crying::crying:

at work at the moment. i bought mine at a small bridal shop so i dont think ill be able to find it online, plus i loved the way my dress fit me, it felt made for me!

ps - everyone elses dresses and pictures are totally and completely beautiful!!!!

April 11, 2005--Fiance receives Packet 3

May 19, 2005 Fax Checklist(Nigeria police report finally arrives)

June 6, 2005-- Interview Date!!!!Visa approved!!

June 18, 2005--Fiancee arrives in Hawaii!

August 14, 2005--wedding in Oregon

September 12, 2005--sent in AOS

September 20, 2005--1st NOA AOS

September 23, 2005--Walk-in biometrics completed

October 1, 2005--fingerprints received/processing resumed

November 26, 2005--EAD card received in mail

June 7, 2006--contact senators about AOS

June 28, 2006--senator says interview date is for August 14!!

August 14, 2006--AOS interview and 1 year wedding anniversary

They wear similar styles in different countries and if you see Morroccon textiles, it's somewhat similar to Indian...also in Pakistan they wear similar. It's not strictly Indian. :no::thumbs:

I really like when people add a touch of something exotic or ethnic into their wedding, especially when half of the couple is from somewhere that's very different than the US. :) I first was going to wear an American dress, but after buying one cheap on ebay, I changed my mind a few months later and decided to wear an Indian style as well as my bridesmaids...they loved dressing in unique outfits(salwar kameez), and the outfits they wore were cheaper than buying bridesmaids dresses.

okay... i have not made up my mind 100%... I am going back and forth on these two... you guys tell me what you think...

on the one hand... if I were to decide to wear the virginal white... i would NOT want it to be a solid color... thus bringing me to this pic:

Sister Peach...OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!! I LOVE IT!!! I love the ethnic choice! It's absolutely gorgeous!!!!! I'd say go for it. I love to see on VJ when women choose gowns representative of their hubster-to-be's culture.....I remember the pics from Stina&Suj's wedding and I just thought it was fantastic that she wore a traditional Indian gown. SO cool!!! GO FOR IT! And it's PEACH!!! :yes:
