I still haven't chosen my dress but I'll start to give it some serious thought next week. My mom and my grandma are gonna help me choosing and then we'll have it made by the same person that made my mom's.

I have a very good idea of what I want though.... and as soon as I have a picture I'll post it here! :luv:

OUR COMPLETE TIMELINE

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!

--- Wish us luck!!! ---

p.s. Do you know if it's allright to have the dress in closet for an almost a year?? Thanks

I had my dress for over a year before we had our wedding. I found it one November when I was visiting. I went looking for dresses because my mum and sister were over. I had it altered a few weeks before the wedding at David's where I brought it. They also cleaned it.

And now that I'm married I can post some pictures of me in my dress.

This is probably over-kill, but eh. We had over 400 pics taken at the wedding. So it's difficult to pick only a few pictures. :P

Gemma, they look great...you both looked lovely. Loved the dress!

I hope that fall wasn't too bad!!!

Hehe, thanks.

Nah, it wasn't bad. We laughed all the way down the aisle about it. It's pretty typical of me. But my heels were pretty high that day. :P The funniest part was that after I fell, my sister who was a bridesmaid tripped down the stairs, then my next bridesmaid tripped and then my last bridesmaid (Mark's sisters were the other two bridesmaids) almost fell, but didn't. So she curtsed (sp?) and everyone applauded. Hehe.

It was hilarious that our photographer caught my fall. Unfortunately the others weren't caught on camera since he followed us out and was getting ready to take picks of people congratulating us. But he told us that he got a great shot of the fall. So I don't think I was the first bride to fall. He was great at showing the action of the wedding. :)

What a cute story...you can always say you 'fell' for him from dot.

When I married Anton I wore a blouse I got from Family Dollar and a gold skirt I bought there in Romania, we were married in the courthouse in his town. I wanted a ceremony in America later but as you all know, we never made it that far. Damn starter-kit husbands.

The next time around I really want to have a ceremony that my family can attend and so I can be a big girlie and have a nice dress. :luv: these are a couple I have in mind:

This one was from Torrid and I don't think they sell this dress anymore :( but I wonder if I really wanted it if I could get a dressmaker to make something similar for me.

And this one I had found on E-Bay as a custom made deal, you tell them your measurements and what colors/materials you want. I was going to go with cream with gold trim :)

I'm not in either pic, in my wedding pictures I ended up looking like the lady that shot Selena :(

Help please. I am not having a "real" wedding - most likely just something at the justice of the peace. And it's a long way down the road - probably 9 months. But I would like to start looking at tea length, plain and simple "cocktail" dresses that might be appropriate. Nothing fancy or wedding-ish although I would like a cream or ivroy color (I think). I've looked at many of the sites for bridesmaid dresses and informal wedding dresses as well as nordstroms, ann taylor, etc. Does anyone have any other suggestions for some other good places to start looking? I have plenty of time, so I'm just starting to look around for ideas. thanks!
