This gown is my current favorite, though I probably wouldn't get it in that color, but ivory instead.

It doesn't seem like that long ago when I was choosing....now we are married!!

12/05/05 NVC received application! (say 2-4 week wait)
12/13/05 Found out forms were sent to London on 12/08/05!
12/20/05 Packet 3 received!

Oo This thread was started before I got here. I hope everyone who hasn't posted their dress posts it now.

I've never really been into weddings/wedding dresses/girly stuff in general, but two girls at work are getting married, and since people know I'm getting married and keep begging me to have a "real" wedding next year, I've gotten a little bit interested.

Luckily, my friend Margo is a design assistant and fabric sourcer for Ms. Vera Wang herself. With hookups like that, I've gotta have a wedding, right? :devil:

a VERA WANG connection-how would you like to be my new best friend? :lol:;)

she is one of my all time favorite wedding dress designers. But YES-with connections like that-you must geta dress made :yes:

Wileasmot, my dress should be ready this week. I already tried it on before the final touch ups. Of course I'm not skinny like the actress wearing it in that picture, so it's that dress in a chubby body. :P

I'll also loose the scarf for the civil wedding, although I had it done as well.

Here's two pictures of my dress. I got it for a good price in Germany and I am so glad I decided against the hoop skirt. I think I would have gone crazy that night.

Removal of Conditions Timeline:

03/19/2008 - package sent to TSC, let's hope for the best

I did not like my dress at all. We kinda made the desicion to get married quickly. Not spur of the moment but not enough time was given for me to actually go dress shopping. I loved the top, but not the bottom.

Anyway pics are in my profile :)

Some of these dresses posted are GORGEOUS!! We are a group of lovely brides!!

You guys are so cute! I never noticed he had an Oz tie on before...haha!

My dress isn't online dangit. Suffice it to say, it's totally me & different - completely fitted & adorned, 1930s looking.

Ok, well Im a few months behind in this thread, but I thought I would contribute,.

WE went somewhat untraditional too,...As you can see by the colour,... It had spaghetti straps, with a wrap, and had some detail starting just below the bust, going down the front of the dress a little bit.

The first pic is the dress with wrap, and the second one is the best shot I could get of the detail, from the pics I had on the computer. I love that dress.

And yes, its snow you can see, We were in Big Bear National Park in Cali, in February!!

10/22/2007 Filed I-130 x 2 in person + paid 710 USD (355 each )

10/22/2007 Filed DS-230 part 1 x 2

10/22/2007 Received the document checklist and FRN (case) numbers

12/18/2007 I-130 petition approved, but I didn't know. I was away at the time, didn't get confirmation letters til I got back from the states.

12/20/2007 Notice of Approval arrives in tha mail. According to the date received stamp on back of envelope at my post box.

Will now wait til hubby is back from Iraq to fax in checklist readiness, even though, I have been ready since day of lodging I-130's. all except medical.

02/18/2008 Faxed the "checklist" back to the consulate.

02/25/2008 Medicals completed.

02/25/2008 Appt letters in mail for appt on March 7th. Cant go due to prior military commitments. Emailed consulate and received an amended appt date of March 12th 2008.

03/12/2008 Visa interview - APPROVED x 2

03/27/2008 Visa's finally generated. I emailed the consulate. they apologised for the delay. They forgot to issue the visas after approval.

03/31/2008 Received visas

04/26/2008 Flying out of Frankfurt to next duty station on orders.

I'll post some after October 7th. I bought a dress from a shop then proceeded to have a seamstress tear it apart so I'll get back to you.

The most important thing about it: It's just a TINY TINY TOUCH too big so it's very comfy and she asked if i wanted it tucked in so it's extremely tight and as Paul and I had just had our food tasting for the big night I said Heck NO! I'm not paying for everyone else to eat out of this world London Broil and Garlic Whipped potatoes while I get drunk off one drink thanks to an empty stomach. I'm eating darn it! :D LOTS! :D

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.
