WOW ladies you all look so beautiful!!!

I am jealous too, we had a courthouse wedding and a very rushed preparation. We just got the rings the morning of our wedding and we had 30 minutes to shower and get dressed. I ended up doing my make-up in the car!! I just wore a very pale pink/creamy coloured summer dress that I had for many years and a linen jacket over it. We only have a couple of wedding pictures and they are not very clear. I wanted to go to the park afterwards and have some good pictures taken, but I was overuled by my in-laws who just wanted to go to the restaurant and get it over with I suppose.

We're Catholic and would love a real church ceremony one day.

Well, as it was suggested before I will recommend that you ladies that wish to have a "Beautiful Dress Day" (I was going to say White/Ivory, but since many have decided for various colors but all of them beautiful, I decided to be more general)... I don't see why you couldn't have that "Special Day"... My mom and dad had a very small wedding, very simple and all.... When they celebrated their 25th Anniversary, they sort of splashed out! My mom had a really nice outfit made, and they went to Church (we are catholics as well) and had their vows renewed... They came in to the Church with the wedding march playing on and both of them walking down the isle.... It was truly wonderful, yet simple...

It is never too late for things like this... This thread has really been one of my favourites! I wish I could go back to my wedding day and enjoy it all from the beginning.... It was 18 months ago and it seems as if it had been only yesterday... My husband and I kept saying for weeks after, that we should get a divorce and remarry just for the fun of it! (How childish!)....

I cannot believe the amount of people coming and sharing in this thread, and it makes me want to come every 5 min just to check you chicks out, because you all look like princesses in a fairy tale...

Thank you all for sahring with us!!

I very much agree that you're entitled to a Special Dress (if you want one) even if the wedding is small, or in the courthouse, or WHATEVAH!

We only had 9 people at our wedding in a hotel suite. I had been married before but Wes had not.....he kept talking about wanting to see me in something special.

My dress is a David's Bridal, but came used from Ebay for $80. I paid another $50 to have some alterations. So I say, if you want a wedding dress, get a used one!

Pictures of it are in my avatar and in MyPhotos.....

Ok well here is what I am getting made... it will have rice (seed pearls) on it... and the wreath is what I want to wear in y hair... only thing is I am not going to have a train.... it will all be one length.... I had first got a pink dress made... but changed my mind... am including a close-up of the front and back... and like I said it will be exactly this only larger (since I am not exactly slim)

All of your dresses are gorgeous (L) and all of you who have pics of yourself in the dress are gorgeous - forget about size... you are glowing - radiating happiness and looking so beautiful (L)

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Beautiful dresses!!

Mine's in My Photos and I loved it sooo much!! Since we got married on the coldest week in Columbus, I also wore an antique 1960's cream fur coat that was given to me years ago. I think there's a picture of that if you click on my name.

I loved everything about that day...and wouldn't change one tiny little detail :luv:

beautiful!!! i love love love your dress... it is so delicate and romantic... and the coat was a special touch!

...How did I miss this amazing thread?!?!?!?!!?!?

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, you guys are all SO gorgeous, and all the wedding dresses you posted are BEAUTIFUL!!!

We only had a VERY small civil wedding here in the US, nothing fancy, just us and a few friends. But we're planning a BIG religious ceremony in Italy next year, with all my family and friends...I can't wait! :D

Here's the dress I like for the wedding in Italy: http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_d...97&prodgroup=10

But it's not going to be exactly the same, because my grandma's sisters are making it from scratch just for me...they used to be professional sewers, but now they're retired and I feel REALLY special because they're making this beautiful wedding dress just for me!!!

The model is almost like the one in the pic, but it's also going to have a sort of embroidered shall on top (for the church)...I really can't wait! I'll make sure to post the pics once it's ready!

Please, keep the pics coming, this thread is soooooo beautiful!!!!! (F)

I had tried on some dresses at David's Bridal and another Bridal shop before i decided I was going to wear an Indian dress. I noticed that sometimes a dress you don't like seeing on the rack will sometimes look awesome on. You never can tell sometimes! There were many dresses that when they showed me, I was like...nahhhhh. But once they were on, they would look so nice! It can be tricky! :)

When I had tried on this dress, it looked so cute and retro...but I wanted more covering my arms and anyway eventually wanted to wear an Indian dress....but this one is really really cute on, if you like a classic retro look.

Mand, I LOVE the fur coat! If I had had the winter wedding I originally wanted I would have worn a fur coat but sadly I couldn't get married in the winter (long story but in a nutshell someone else, an old friend with a very strained relationship, beat me to the punch and got married this winter :P). But I am SO happy with my choice, once the wedding is over I'm gonna dig up this thread and post pictures of my dress! :)

This is one awesome thread! I just adore to see wedding dresses and wish I could wear mine again! The whole wedding day goes by so quickly that when its over you dream of looking like a princess again!

Here is my dress ... lets hope this works! I was planning on getting mine once I got to the US but I went into a shop in the UK and fell in love with this dress. It was my size, on the sale rail and was within my budget. By the way, everyone looks totally stunning!

Ooops, didnt work, let me try again!
