Oh wow, I'm so jealous of you all! I did the courthouse wedding, and got married in a pair of linen trousers and a white jersey top! Since we don't have plans to do a formal ceremony, I guess that's probably the way it will stay :(

Everyone makes such beautiful brides, and what lovely dresses!

I guess I should add that since Chris wears a tux almost every weekend because he plays wedding receptions, the whole "big, fancy wedding" idea was somewhat jaded to him. I think if I'd have pushed him he'd have done it, but it was about he and I getting married, not a gorgeous white dress.

Although I would love a gorgeous white dress day...

Stina/Suj...your dress is gorg....do you have any color pics of the big day that you can post?

thanks! I have to find our CD with all our wedding pics on it, but here is one! I used the scarf, or dupatta as it's called, as a veil. Boy was that thing heavy, because of the gold thread/beading on it. We attached it to a tiara and while wearing it, it was pretty heavy so we pinned part of the dupatta to the back of my top to keep some of the weight off of pulling my head back. After the ceremony I took it off.

stina... i absolutely love the colors you have in your wedding attire!!! the color just makes it POP!!! wow, everyone is sooooo gorgeous... and the gents are so handsome!

oooh i love wedding posts... makes me wish i could go back and relive all the craziness that it was trying to plan a wedding amidst immigration #######!

here is one shot of me

Laura... sweetie, you are gorgeous!!! the dress is so lovely... and you are too!

Here's me in mine with my aunt:

Lynne, do the ethnic dress, it will look stunning on you!

You look beautiful! :)

And as a drunken Mexican man told my cousin's wife while she was vacationing, "Bone is for the dog...MEAT is for the man".

That's my motto now, so if anyone says anything 'bout my hips, I tell them that. ;)

Thanks!!! I hear that a lot.... (the smile)! :) It must be true then. By the way, I love the pics of your wedding dresses. I love the color and everything about it. I was actually looking into the same style for my dress (without the color though... I am not as brave as you are!) back in the day. But couldn't find abything in my price range. I can't wait though to find out what you will pick for your wedding in the end!!! :) I am sure you'll look gorgeous.

All of your dresses look so lovely!

We chose to have a small courthouse wedding, and I have to say, it turned out beautifully! I didn't want to spend a lot of money on my dress, but figured this was my first and only wedding so why not! :P And with hubby looking so dashing, I had to look as good as him! :D

LisaD, I fell in love with that same dress! I've been toying with the idea of a black and white wedding though, so naturally I was looking at the black trim instead. I'll probably go for something completely different in the end considering I keep changing my mind on which dress I want everytime I log online or open a magazine. Also, the more I think about it, the more I find myself heading away from strapless gowns. Mostly because I've never ever worn anything strapless, and I really wouldn't want to feel uncomfortable on my own wedding day :P

Everyone, you all look amazing! And all the dresses are absolutely gorgeous! I am SO happy that sashes are in style currently and thus readily available, because I love the thought of throwing in a bit of colour that way... especially the ones that drape down the back from the waist.

Ok, I've gone back and looked at everyones dresses now, they are all SO pretty! It's amazing how each of us is able to find a dress that is just perfect for us :) I went to the store not even planning on buying a dress, just getting ideas for dresses, and as soon as I walked in I saw my dress on a mannequin and KNEW that was the one for me! I bought it waayy back in November and it only came in a couple weeks ago, luckily it fit! It was too big actually, thank goodness, and we get free alterations because they screwed up and it shipped late :) I don't think I'm gonna be able to bend over or sit though because the seamstress has me strapped into that thing TIGHT! I guess I better make sure at my next fitting I can sit in it! :P

Like I said in my previous post I'd love to PM the link to anyone who wants to see it :) I really want it to be a complete suprise to James so I'm not risking him being able to see it! I haven't told him a thing about it, not even the store, if he's anything like me he would be nosy and try to find it online! :)
