Sorry if you thought I was cursing at you Ionescu. If I curse it is generally for dramatic effect purposes only. I can't recall ever having cursed directly at anyone online. And other than that, I don't think that you are really being attacked here. Your logic/opinions maybe, but ain't that a debate?

Yeah, we certainly don't hate ya after all. The opinion in the OP was pretty aggrivating though because many people seriously feel that way.....and if you know people that those types of attitudes has affected, it's hard not to say something.

For the record:

McDonald's sucks. Wal-Mart sucks. Rednecks and the KKK suck. Prohibition sucks. Bush sucks. Monopolies and oligarchies suck. Fundies suck. SUV's and humfckingvees suck. High-assed rent and gentrification sucks. No healthcare sucks. etc. The list goes on, obviously. My point is that it is my and anybody elses fcking RIGHT to speak their mind in this country, and that is one of the few and getting fewer things that does not suck here. In this way you are right. However, to me the law is not the be-all, end-all. Me, I follow the law when it seems like a good idea. For example, I refuse to sit at a red light for five minutes in the dead of night with 0 cars on the road (and even in less extreme situations). Heck, we have PLENTY of laws that don't even get enforced! Why do we even have them? Jaywalking? Sodomy? #######? If I need to cross a river or a line in the snow to provide for my family... well I'm not gonna be broken up over the stupid law! And if I know somebody who did that, how could I possibly live with myself turning them in? People are just people like you.

Firstly, where do you draw the line about which laws you follow and which ones you don't? Are you advocating personal approval of the laws before following them? I mean, I could tell you I find the law against murder silly. How I came to that conclusion is just as subjective & personal as how you came to the 'I won't sit at a red light at night when it's deserted' theory. BTW, I could sit here and tell you how a person such as yourself chose not to sit at the light and wound up plowing into my friend's car & killing her. So bravo for deeming that unimportant.

My mom says that if SO many mexicans jump our boarders and demand rights, equal rights at that, then buy out the mexican goverment and make Mexico a state of the U.S. especially since our biggest immigration population are mexicans. That way mexico would become part of the US, same pay, same benefits, and mexicans and americans can come and go as pleased, and maybe the illegal ones here would go back to Mexico.

Dude... this was my wifes FIRST thought on seeing the news of these protests. Why doesn't America just annex Mexico if the Americans need them to work here and the Mexicans want to be here?

The problem there would be employeers could no longer pay them cheap wages and would have to start paying them minimum wages and provide insurance and other benefits. It would be a terrible financial drain on the U.S. economy. Thats' why illegal immigrants are so highly desired in the work force, so the emplyers can abuse them and cheat them, and they can't do anything about it.

America has been utilizing mexican labor for over a hundred years. When times are good, nobody complains. When times get bad, it all their fault.

As long as america provides better opportunity than Mexico, and the borders continue to be full of holes, the illegals will continue to come here.

We have laws which penalize employers for hiring illegals ($10,000 per person for the 1st violation), however the federal gov't chooses not to enforce these laws. If no job opportunities exist, the illegal immigration would all but come to a grinding halt.

Don't blame the illegal immigrant for wanting opportunity, blame our gov't for turning a blind eye to the issue, and not enforcing the law.

Ok, I'm totally coming into this topic late and haven't read the posts but my mom asked me how I felt about it tonight and gave me her views. She thinks they should each (the immigrants) pay $200 each to get their greencard in order to help pay for it because we, the taxpayers, are gonna end up funding all the effort and paperwork it takes to get them their greencard (and we all know it's expensive!). Just her opinion, I'm definitely not here to debate!
