For the record:

McDonald's sucks. Wal-Mart sucks. Rednecks and the KKK suck. Prohibition sucks. Bush sucks. Monopolies and oligarchies suck. Fundies suck. SUV's and humfckingvees suck. High-assed rent and gentrification sucks. No healthcare sucks. etc. The list goes on, obviously. My point is that it is my and anybody elses fcking RIGHT to speak their mind in this country, and that is one of the few and getting fewer things that does not suck here. I say come on in and criticize, we need more of it.

This reminded me of the beginning of Trainspotting....

...and I agree that being an American or a legal citizen thereof does give you the right to speak your mind....but I'm sorry, that right does give anyone license to not adhere to our laws.

BUT when someone critisizes someones opinion, it becomes an all out hate war. I never said no one can voice their opinion, its the fact that when someone so rudely name calls and curses at someone, you tend to tune their opinion out. As i thought everyone on here were adults. Atleast until today that is.

Also what happened to being able to voice an opinion without being totally attacked on it, and cursed at , and having people begin to name call.

And no i never expected this thread to take the road it took, hence the fact i joked on the original post on it when i said "i blame my mothers lack of sleep on this idea".

If i was being serious about it, or anything else for that matter, by God I would have made that very clear.

It's very sad to see that every dicussion about immigration now becomes a bashing mess. I think we're better than that......

To be honest, I don't really know if Pedroh is the Mexican fiance or not, but if he got offended, an apology wouldn't hurt.

I really don't think the OP meant to offend anyone though... and instead of just asking "what do you mean by that?" or "let me see if I get this right...." people just assume every post is meant to offend and hurt other people's feelings.

In this way you are right. However, to me the law is not the be-all, end-all. Me, I follow the law when it seems like a good idea. For example, I refuse to sit at a red light for five minutes in the dead of night with 0 cars on the road (and even in less extreme situations). Heck, we have PLENTY of laws that don't even get enforced! Why do we even have them? Jaywalking? Sodomy? #######? If I need to cross a river or a line in the snow to provide for my family... well I'm not gonna be broken up over the stupid law! And if I know somebody who did that, how could I possibly live with myself turning them in? People are just people like you.

I also respect everyones opinions in life and on this forum, i thought other adults felt the same, i believe that in society, immigrant or citizen, lack of respect for others is the BIGGEST problem we face. With that said, i wish I had never posted this thread, and will not repeat my mistake in furture.

Sorry if you thought I was cursing at you Ionescu. If I curse it is generally for dramatic effect purposes only. I can't recall ever having cursed directly at anyone online. And other than that, I don't think that you are really being attacked here. Your logic/opinions maybe, but ain't that a debate?
