Hello,

After a year long series of bumbling mistakes, my fiancee has just gotten her notice for her inteview date. It's in roughly three weeks.

Pros: I'm, purely out of coincidence, going to be visiting her during this time.

Cons: I figured it was atleast two to three months away and am not prepared, at all.

I leave the country in three days to go be with her. What do *I*, the US citizen need to provide for the interview? My fiancee is British and her interview will be at the London embassy. I know I'm being vague my I'm completely wigged out and panicing.

Thank you so much in advance.

The same stuff she was going to take going along. Evidence of relationship and any other documents needed at the embassy. I'm not sure if London lets the US citizen attend the interview, if they do, you will need to take your US passport with you.

What I mean specifically(sorry for the vagueness, I seriously am freaking out about this), is what do I need in reference to the affidavit of support? I know I need the I-134. What evidence do I need to bring with that?

I also have cosponsors. What do I need for them?

Well, now is not the time to be "wigged out and panicing" - but to refocus and be assuring to your fiancee.

So, my suggestion (and the NVC's suggestion somewhere on their website) is to bring 1 set of copies of all documents you already filed.

Affidavit of Support and supporting financial and tax information you filed

Copy of DS-230 you filed with supporting documents (Birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport biographic page, divorce decree if fiancee was previously divorced)

love letters

photos

and proofs of relationship of any other nature (joint ownership in something)

This way....if the consular officer says "oh, I am missing a document," you can provide him with a copy of what was submitted earlier.

Best of luck.

They need to complete the I-134, with a notarized signature. And support for it - 2006 tax return, current employer letter and pay stubs.

If your cosponsor meats the support requirements on income, don't need any asset (bank account, home ownership, etc) proof. Remember assets count 1/5 to income when trying to meet the 125% poverty requirement.

The other forms she needs for the interview can be done on line together.

It is usually possible for the USC to attend the interview in London -- there's been one report a few months back of the USC being denied entry to the visa department, but since then everyone else has made it in. Worth a shot! Even just being there with her in the queue waiting to get to security can do much for spirits.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance and kind words.

After about half a nights sleep I managed to calm way down. And today one of my Cosponsors, who alone should meet the requirements twice over, managed to get all of her evidence and paperwork done and sorted. So it's a giant weight off my mind.

Once again, thanks. And wish us luck. :)

Follow what the guide recommends and make sure you make copies of everything. I don't know about the embassy in London, some allow while others don't allow the USC to attend the interview.

Enjoy your trip and good luck with the interview.

Also, remember to follow the instructions that the Consulate gave to your fiance when they set the appointment, every Consulate is different and some consulates ask for different documents related to I-134, make sure you bring the ones the Consulate asked for.
