Dear all,

My wife got a conditional Green Card last week. Her Social Security Card is "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION" . Does she need to go to the local Social Security Office to remove it (apply for a new card)?. Can someone tell me about it since I have no idea about her conditional Social Security Card

Thanks you

best regards,

Duclinhreo

She can get a new unrestricted social security card whenever she wants now. No huge rush because she can still use the old one... I haven't changed mine yet but I'll get to it eventually!

If the same name that is on her current SSN record is on her I-551 card that is only she needs. Now I wouldn't give them my old card until I get the new one, but it's up to you if you want to go without having a card for weeks or possible months.
