Social etiquette is something that isn't reinforced the way it once was. Politeness and being considerate have had to make way for unrestrained self expression in social settings. It's the guy who doesn't take off his hat in a movie theater, who then cusses at the lady behind him because she was assertive enough to kindly ask him to remove it. It's the person at the restaurant who carries on a long drawn out phone conversation within earshot of the patrons around them.

I hope that we can get back to a place where we can politiely confront someone who is being impolite and inconsiderate without them turning into a, "it's a free country, I can say or do whatever I damn well please." Some people are mistaking the expectation of good manners with being PC ...or being a 'wussy'. While people have a right to speak freely, others also have a right to let them know when they're being impolite or inconsiderate.

I said this once to an OP on a thread and someone told me to get off of my high horse. I can't stand this word either.

But those phrases are so open to ridicule.

Is it possible to take the "high horse" down the "low road"?

Has anyone seen the movie Idiocracy? This statement kind of reminds me of this movie because of how far the country had deteriorated because of this type of mentality, among other things.

Does that include using the word 'f*cktard' in a thread where the OP is expressing an immense dislike and offense of 'retard or any variation of'?
