Grandstanding Has Consequences

So what your saying is this, The Turks haven't owned up to the killings of their past. Ok, I will go along with that. But your also saying that the fact the dems are doing that now as a wedge to push Turkey away at a time when Bush needs an friend in the area. That stinks. It's using it as just another tool for the anti-war side. The two shouldn't mix. The dems had congress for a very long time and could have done this on many occations. Just more politics as I see it. And our boys are caught in the middle. Not a good thing.

What I am actually saying is that politicians should stop cherry picking which issues they want to make an "issue". But in this instance I dont believe this is aimed at Iran or Iraq it is a single politician Adam Schiff D-CA who is a member of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, who is very active in Armenian issues in his home constituency and the author of the Resolution last week which recieved bipartisan support looking after his own interests (and probably the 10% Armenian community/voters) in his own backyard.

I believe the timing is utterly APPALLING (if thats how you treat your allies god help your enemies kinda thoughts) and on the day the vote took place when it got little coverage on mainstream channels here but was headlines on BBC World news my comment to hubby was it was one occasion when perhaps the most diplomatic thing to do was for everyone to abstain from voting.
