Parking at Newark Airport

I'm trying to figure out what the best way is going to be to park, collect Ewen and all his stuff at the airport, and get back to the car at Newark. Obviously actual airport parking is outrageously expensive, and public transport will not be an option what with the excess baggage and all.

So I was thinking about making a reservation at one of the off-airport parking lots as it's significantly cheaper and they all offer free shuttle service to and from the airport. Has anyone done this? Do you think we'll be okay to do it with 4 or 5 pieces of luggage?

Never tried any of the pvt lots. I use the short term lots (A,B,C) for this purpose. It isn't that expensive. I usually arrive about 15-20 minutes after scheduled arrival (for intl flights). Your fiance will have to get smartcarts at his baggage area, i think theyre $1 each. Each one can hold a lot of luggage if you can pile them up right. My wife came with 4 pieces of luggage too and 1 cart was enough. I then took the cart out to the short term lot and loaded it into my car.

Short Term Parking Lots A and B, and the C Parking Garage (located in front of each terminal) is:

$3 for the first half hour or part thereof

$6 for up to 1 hour

$3 for each hour or part thereafter up to a $30 maximum for a 24-hour period

Most of those places at our airport (the off site parking lots) are more expensive than long term.

If i recall correctly he'll need singles to feed the smartcart machines. They take credit cards too but my wifes credti card didnt work on it (not sure why, maybe coz its citibank india?)...

You'll be fine. Newark POE is a piece of cake for the most part. It's the drive out to the boonies that'll be tiring

yeah ... don't sweat that small stuff!! short term parking is the way to go and you can walk right out to your car. the trolley will be $3 and he will come out with all his luggage (there is no baggage claim for internat'l).

how are you getting there?? 95 to the turnpike? and don't worry about newark (i know you've been there before) ... the only thing you will experience is the smell!!!

Pax, Newark Liberty Airport is one of the best in the world and you'll have no problems with short-term parking. It's not that expensive, as everyone is telling you, and hey, it's just one of the small costs in the whole process. It's also well-marked when you leave, so if you know your route, you'll find good signage for driving.
