Thinking of Switching from IR-1 to DCF

I'm thinking of switching from the IR-1 process for my wife's application to DCF. I live in Sweden and have been here for 8 months now so I qualify for the DCF process here.

Currently our I-130 has been approved by the USCIS and is taking forever to go through the NVC - 3 months already and they haven't sent out the request for financial info yet. Then I will be relying on them to set up an interview with the Swedish Consulate.

Maybe someone here with more experience can help me - would it be any faster at this point to change to filing directly through the embassy here or should we stay with the original application that's at the NVC now?

Yeah but maybe its faster if the NVC typically takes a long time.

I am not sure what the process -if any- is for transferring from NVC to DCF. Contact your consulate and ask them -- who knows, it might be a snappy happy easy thing!!!!

I would wait it out if I were you. Contact nvc immediately
