Hey guys,

Here's my deal...I'm currently living in Brazil with my fiance and we've started to look for flights back to the U.S.

Does anyone know where to buy cheap international tickets?

(The taxes here in Brazil are very high and buying through the states would be much cheaper.)

Does anybody have any ideas???

thanks,

andy

Check with a travel agent in brazil, the cheapest fares are almost always found outside of the US. As far as travelocity and expedia.com go I have never found a good deal on those sites. Overseas travel agents have much more leeway in pricing the tickets. OR email a travel agent in the US and get a quote...

Hey Andy!!!

I received Pam e-mail but just got time to answer right now!!!

We used expedia.com in all our trips and was the best price we have found... But need to search alot on the site to get the best deal. My one way ticket for Seattle supposed to be $1300 but I got for $730!!! The prices will depend alot on the day you want to travel... If you are willing to travel any day of the week, then will be perfect... Search all days on the week, one of them will have the best price...

Wish you luck,

Carol

I have never flown to or from Brazil but when I am looking for airfares...I go to expedia.com and find the cheapest flight (airline) and then go to that airlines web site and the prices are even a little cheaper then on expedia.com and you dont have to pay the fee.

Just an idea...goog luck and round trip are usually cheaper then one way.

I must have spent 3 days looking for the cheapest flights from Brazil to the U.S. I found much better prices on the U.S. websites, but many companies don't offer flights that don't originate in the U.S.

With that being said, my fiance and I settled with expedia.com. We picked up 2 one way tickets from Rio to Chicago for $900/ a piece. I thought we did pretty good considering that next cheapest flights were more than $300 on all other websites. And with expedia you can buy tickets originating in major airports outside of the U.S.

Thanks and tchau,

andy

From Brazil is tricky. The best prices I've found were just doing walk ins to various travel agencies or looking in the travel section of the paper. In Rio it was O Globo on, if I remember correctly, thursdays.

A lot of the agencies offer travel packages to "gateway" cities. (i.e. $700 per person for 3 nights in Miami). This might be a lot cheaper then getting a flight to Vegas from Rio. Then you could just book Miami-Vegas tix separatly online and skip the hotel. There's no requirement for you to use the hotel, or use the return portion of your tickets. I've saved a bunch of cash doing it this way. Feel free to PM me if you have any Q's
