Wow, back in the old days (before 2004), the people who really hated the Red Sox were Yankee fans, and--let's face it-- Red Sox fans themselves. The semirivalry with Cleveland is left over from the days when they were in the same division. I don't have strong feelings about the Indians but would absolutely pull for them over the Rockies should it come to that.

I can see how people who are not Red Sox or (evil) Yankees fans are tired of the Sox-Yanks rivalry overexposure, which seems to come at the expense of covering other teams. King Kaufman said it best: "You know the story of the Rockies, who won an astounding 13 of their last 14 games to tie San Diego for the wild card, then beat the Padres in a play-in game that would be on an endless loop on its own dedicated cable channel by now had it been contested by the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, then swept Philadelphia in three to gain the NLCS."

Any predictions on where A-Rod will end up? Before he spends eternity in hell, that is.

Gee, could there be Yankees fans in our midst? I can't imagine such strong anti-Sox sentiment coming from elsewhere...

Have some Sox fans at work and they are being really obnoxious, especially after they swept the Angels.

Yeah, I understand. Sox fans are an obnoxious bunch, and it's definitely become worse since 2004. I went to a couple of the D'Backs-Sox interleague games this past season, and I was embarrassed for some of the Sox fans--mostly male, drunk, loud, and stupid--and too young to remember the horror of the 1986 World Series. That seemed significant somehow.

Was that the Buckner incident? I feld badly for him but think the Sox beat the Angles out of the world series that year after Happy Henderson hit the home run off Donny Moore

Yup, the very same one. Woo hoo! I actually have a much better memory of the Hendu home run than the Buckner error.

I remember not being too worried about the World Series, even after Game 6. I assumed that the Sox would win Game 7, and I was looking forward to watching another game. Of course, I was 13 and didn't exactly have much of a grasp on reality!

The attention that the Buckner error has been given is absolutely ludicrous. So much went wrong in that inning, and if you had to pick one person responsible for the Game 6 collapse, it was Calvin Schiraldi.

Baseball sucks.

Any luck with the accu-jack?
