Married filing jointly!

Can we write off the cost of my wife and anak moving to the US in 2007?

We filed jointly for 2006 while they were still in the Philippines and we'll file jointly for 2007.

Also can we write off trips to the Philippines to work on our/wifes rental proberty there.

What about filing fees paid to Homeland Security?

Since USCIS refers to us as "customers" can we 1099 them for "services rendered" and write it off?

I provide a service and get 1099s for services rendered.

Yeah may be dreaming but sure would be nice to get a plus out of this process.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

We've had this discussion in here before...and I'm pretty sure most of those are a no.

The last two definitely are are no.

And if the other ones are...well I'm of the opinion that they shouldn't be so I'll let someone else expound on that.

I believe the move needs to be work related.

You can write off business expenses. I have a chicken farm outside of Cagayan and wrote off travel expenses.
