AOS application denied...filing fee error

Hi everyone,

I was under the impression that we were supposed to pay for both the I-485 and I-765, however my application was rejected because I paid too much? Is it correct that the fee for the I-485 covers the fees for the I-765 and the advanced parole fee? Where can I find this info online?

Filing Fee :

$930 plus a biometrics fee of $80; the fee total is $1,010. Exceptions listed below. There is no fee for applicants who are filing Form I-485 based on having been admitted to the United States as a refugee. Applicants 79 years of age or older are not charged a biometric fee; the fee total is $930. Applicants under 14 years of age: - Filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $600 - Not filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $930

Special Instructions :

If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, on July 30, 2007, or after, then no fee is required to file a request for advance parole on Form I-131 and/or employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the I-131 and I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-131 and/or I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-131 and/or I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of the receipt for your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, as evidence of the filing of an I-485.

buttercup - I know you got your answer... just to add: this is really a "denial" to start processing it because the fee is incorrect. It wasn't denied due to some other "real" reason. Not much consolation when we all want our approvals NOW. But try to find a bright side in this... the most damage you've attracted is some delay. Hope it's not too long! Good luck!

That is correct, and the information can be found on the instructions to forms I-485, I-765 and I-131.
