Hicham and I really labored over the baby and I making the trip over Thanksgiving...and we've decided to tough it out and wait. I was going to have to still pay the two weeks of tuition for our son's school, plus the plane tickets. Since we are going to have to buy another car when Hicham comes home and we don't know how long it will take him to find a job, we felt like our expenses just couldn't take the hit. Hicham said he wished that he could close his eyes and we were there! But when he said that he couldn't put us on a plane one more time and watch us leave...I knew it was best to wait until we could go and bring him home!

It was such a tough decision, because my heart wants my hubby. Inshallah, our time won't be much longer. I'm hoping that with the holidays fast approaching that time will fly and we will get the news that his case is approved and can come home.

Thank you all for being soooooo supportive! :)

I know its often the right thing to do, but i hate it when being practical is the best choice (F)

You all will get through this and have a whole life time together. I think the closer you get the more difficult it becomes to wait. You might need some new distraction techniques.

My distraction, other than our wild little boy, has been working out and going to the gym. The one thing I'm glad about having more time, is that I should be at my goal weight and I will be back to the size that I was when Hicham and I first met.

If we don't get an answer soon, I might need to just be tranquilized!!!!!!!

I'm with you though...being practical isn't always what it's cracked up to be! :(

I am sorry that you won't be going and have to be practical. I hate it when we can't have what we want and when we want it!

I pray that God will get you back together very soon.

I know being practical is a good thing, but I still feel for you. I just gave up my last chance at a vacation in the next 6 mo. to see my SO for "practical" reasons.... it really sucks

If there is some way you can see him, try. I have a 2 and a half year old and before they are 2 there are some great fares. You could fly on christmas day or some really off the wall day and if you had to , you could take the ferry to Morocco. I think you should follow your heart. After your son is 2 you will pay full coach fare for him. Until he is 2 , you only pay a lap charge. I have a really good north african travel agent who is amazing who is based out of California who can run date after date for you and get you the best fare. I just wouldn't write off seeing him yet. Leave your heart open to seeing him and if you need help with very bottom rate fares, I can give you this guys name

I appreciate the suggestions of getting a lap fare for our son...but at almost 3 feet tall and 35 lbs, I'm not sure how he and I would survive an international flight that would be crowded more than likely. Besides, unless he was heavily sedated, there is NO WAY he would stay in my lap for 7 hours! I would be  by the end of the flight!

The one thing that really made us decided to wait it out is that Hicham said he couldn't watch us leave him again without being on the plane with us. As hard as it is for me to be without him and the desire to see him RIGHT NOW! I would not want to break his heart like that.

The next time I see Hicham, it will be for good and we won't be apart ever again!!!!
