AP and AOS

Hello Peopl,

I was looking at the time lines. The USCIS web site says 6 months, this site says 3 months.Does anyone have a good idea?

Next question, can I send the application to work after I have sent the fisr AOS paperwork, or will it slow things down? The USCIS site says 7 weeks for work permit.

Wanting to travel with a travel permit back to Russia, can I also send that now, after I have already sent the AOS paperwork?

Timeline for what? AOS is 6 months for employment-based adjustments. K-1 adjusting does not count, so it could take 3 months, 6 months, 2 years...no way of knowing.

Since the EAD and AP costs are included with the new AOS fees, I would think it would make sense to send all of them at the same time. It would delay your EAD and AP approvals if you sent them separately/later.

You can file for AP after filing for AOS, however you need to include a copy of AOS NOA1 letter in order to avoid having to pay a fee for the AP, if you filed for AOS after July 30.

NOTE: If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, as of July 30, 2007,no fee is required to also file a request for advance parole on Form I-131. You may file the I-131 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-131 at a later date. If you file Form I-131 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of an I-485 as of July 30, 2007.
