Color copies of american passport okay?

Is it illegal to copy my American passport in color? Just a precaution before I send it in. I scanned it and I want to print it in color so it looks good for them.

I sent my passport copies in color it will be fine. And I do agree with you it looks much nicer.

Funny thing about this is there is a sign on our copier that says it is illegal to copy money, passports, driver's licenses, checks,...............OMG.......besides the money part, I've broken the law way too many times. I hope nobody calls the copy police on me. I better start wearing those little glasses with the fake mustache attached, just in case!

Makes no difference B/W or Color.

USCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.

I copied the photo page and the pages with immigration stamps in color, and the rest in black and white (to save money).

Because often black and white copies of documents containing other colors often are not as legible, I always recommend a color copy or scan and print when any color, even if just a red stamp is involved.
