Wow, I'm really surprised at how many people don't burp or fart in front of their SO. I took it for granted that there's nothing I can't do in front of my husband, and vice versa.

It seems so unnatural and uptight to me otherwise.

I'd never compare or judge someone else's values. If I can't help it and it happens, I'm not gonna die. But I've always thought there was no need to do that in front of each other.... and I'm glad he thinks the same. I just feel that if I can go somewhere else and respect his space or something like that, why not?

All of my cousins, aunts and their SO do it and I don't see a problem with that because they just don't care. But since I was lucky enough to find someone that feels the same way I do, I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

And other than that particular thing, there's nothing I don't do in front of Dave. I mean nothing!

Just the way some people were raised...it's not that i CANT do it in front of my hubby I just choose not to - in my mind, it's rude.

So - where you say I'm "uptight" I say you are rude.

I got a little upset when I read "uptight" too but just decided to let it go..... I'm sure she didn't mean to offend me saying that. I sure hope so

well, the past couple of days if I had to run to the bathroom every time I needed to fart, I might as well just set up camp! Every now and again, I just get gassy and there's naught I can do about it but let it go. I let one out last night that even the dog was proud of! And she can fart on cue!

Better out than in I say. My father's entire family were not allowed to vent in any way shape or manner and all of them had stomach and acid problems. Once they started venting tho and getting rid of all the bad vapours, they feel much better. Its a necessary bodily function, no way around it.

Sorry but I took it almost just as personal as karo112 did at first ....... but just decided to let it go as I hate these forum wars and everyone is free to share their opinions. :P I know that when you respond to something you just make it worse and to be honest I belive it takes a lot more than not doing that kinda stuff in front of your SO to make you an uptight.

I don't see the big deal with this at all.

so brother arijit, do you have your wife pull your finger??? :D

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Well he lets his wind blow freely...I on the other do not. I don't think he would be bothered at all, it is just the way I am....

He puts most of this down to me being British btw.....

Hubster and I are the same way...he let's 'em rip...I prefer to either go to the loo or at least another room...that's ME though. He wouldn't care and I know some have slipped out, especially those early morning kind...you know, the ones that aren't smelly, just a little pop of escaping air..LOL But man, can he let them go freely... :o:o:o .....and eeeeeeeeeeeeek! What has he been eating??????:blink::blink:

I'm a closet farter  , but let's face it, every now and again one is going to slip out unannounced !! and that is when a dog comes in handy  Anyway, all my farts smell like Chanel No 5 :D

hehehe...I need a dog for those unannounced ones. Hubster claims his are unannounced, but I know that's just not true...he enjoys his farts and a little too much I might add.:lol:

It is human to fart and burp :) why hide it.

Lots of things are normal bodily functions that I'd rather not share with anyone. Vomiting is a normal bodily function when you are ill...don't want to share that event either... ;)

Anyway, I don't think there is anything wrong with not wanting to participate in the toot parade. That's not to say that I don't find farts hilarious, just not mine or his smelly ones...:lol::lol:fart.gif

I gotta say, one of the things I love about David is that he holds my hair & rubs my back when I'm ill....

I agree with LisaD, puking is natural, and i loved it when i got food poisoning in Romania and my fiance cared little about the foul smell and stuff coming from my body as i puked for 4 hours and held my hair, kissed my head and rubbed my back.

people are people, we cant control some bodily functions  but i dont think if it happened, even continuously, anyones spouse would push you aside for it.

Yes, puking is natural...and I still would rather not have to have hubster view it. Thankfully, I'm not a puker...comes out the basement instead...

Hubster was ill and I told him I just didn't know if I could be a "hold the hair back" person (his hair is very long), and he was fine with that....he doesn't want me having a dry heaves retching reaction to him, so...as long as each person is fine with it....there's no problem.
