farting and burping are just part of life... EVERYONE does it... so why even try to think that it doesnt?

even before we met in person the first time, we had heard each other burping (and even the occassional seam-bursting fart) over the phone/skype... skype was up nearly 24hrs a day... i dont remember the first time or who was the first to do either in front of the other... but it doesnt really matter... and frankly, with a 7 yr old in the house, who is right in that age for finding bodily functions hilarious... sometimes there are even burping contests... cucumbers, watermelon, cabbage, soda... it can get rowdy... but hey, she eats the veggies ;)

now, it should go without saying (but i will say it just to clarify) that it is very clear that it is not something that is encouraged in public... but why should you feel embarrassed about your bodily functions in the privacy of your own home?

To me it's not even about being embarrassed.... it's just me. And he's the same way. Maybe because we both think it's a turn off.

Trust me, there're TONS of stuff we do that'd be considered embarrassing (please don't make me say it.....) but we're comfortable around each other to do them.

I say that if you can't help it, then you can't help it and of course it's okay!! But I honestly don't see a reason to do it in front of each other on purpose.

Oh, I don't save them up and then let them go in front of him, but if we're watching a movie, and I have to fart, I do. I don't get up and go to the bathroom, making him pause the movie so I can fart.

So I'm not purposely going "Gee...let's see if I can fart now...that'd be fun!" but when I have to, I do.

:lol::lol: This thread is funny....

Well he lets his wind blow freely...I on the other do not. I don't think he would be bothered at all, it is just the way I am....very early on in our relationship he walked in on me while I was on the loo to clean his teeth....this obviously was an ok thing to do in his previous relationships......suffice to say after my reaction he never did that again!!

He puts most of this down to me being British btw.....

dutch oven ......... the process of farting in bed with ones partner and pulling the covers over said partner's head.

My 28 yr old daughter is a shocker for doing that .....Im always prepared now if ever we have to bunk in with each other.

I have to say - I was raised in the South....with that whole "proper" southern lady thing...Can't help it. I would NEVER fart or burp in front of a guy. Just the way I was raised. He does in front of me sometimes but only on accident. I'm glad. MY ex fiance used to fart ALL THE TIME and it drove me nuts. I think it's so rude.

That's just the beginning of my quirks due to my southern upbringing.

1. Always say yes m'am, yes sir, etc.

2. I carry stationary in my car so if I need to write a thank you note, I can do so ASAP.

3. I have proper, monogrammed stationary a la Emily Post

4. There's more...but honestly I thank my mom and dad for raising me this way :)

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Aussiewench... I'm dying laughing here!!! I was going to try and avoid this thread, even though I'm getting a big kick out of it, but after seeing your post...

Chicken Little... you too... you're killing me!!!

I guess I have to tell our side now too... which is  We are both very comfortable around each other, and like it's been mentioned a couple of times, and what she tells me when she lets one rip... "it's natural"!!! The first time she let one go, I thought I was going to die, since I honestly was starting to believe women don't fart!!! hahahahaha  Needless to say, it opened the door for me as well! Like someone else mentioned, this is meant only for in the privacy of our home, or room... not out in public!

As for the bathroom... same as Aussiwench. We alwasy joked about never leaving each other's sides... until it came to the bathroom! :D Showers and baths are different!!! ;)

We both do it in front of each other. Like other's have said, it's not on purpose but if we have to we do. We don't run and hide from each other in order to fart. He doesn't particularly like it when I belch but he has gotten used to it. It's just natural. Everyone does it. I don't remember the first time either of us did it. It just started happening.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!
