Hi all,

Can someone tell me how long will it take me to receive my actual GC from my interview date? Coz I have my interview on Oct. 26, and my husband and I should leave US on December for his next military duty station.

Do you think I would be able to receive it before I leave the country? Is there a case that it took a lot longer than 1 month?

Thanks!

K-1

Filed: Citizen (apr) Country: China
Timeline

If you are approved at the interview, the officer should stamp your passport with I-551 stamp. That makes passport act like a temp green-card allowing travel, and work.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Yeah I know,

I just don't want to leave without my GC. The USCIS won't send it overseas, and it might be lost if I change address. Is there a way of asking them to send it right away during the interview, or it's too much to ask?

Take a look at the Immigration Timelines, there are some stats on the AOS like that shows what you are asking, maybe that will givey you an idea anyway.
