That's great!

Seeing that they also change the lights for Xmas and Hanukkah, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it.

They also light it up for Bastille Day

There are many different days when the ESB is lit up in different colors - it is also lit up green on St. Patrick's Day, I believe. I wonder if they will do anything for Diwali, the biggest Hindu holiday?

Ugh, idiots like the ones on that site make me ashamed to be an American(it doesn't take much for that to happen lately). Every year on the first Sunday in September there is a Muslim parade in NYC - this year it needed to be rescheduled to the Sunday before 9/11 because the usual date would occur during Ramadan. Wouldn't you know there were some flag-waving America-f^^k yeah! types protesting the parade claiming that it was disrespectful to the victims of 9/11(some of whom happened to be..uh...Muslim).

nope

It's funny but things that I just assume that everyone around the world knows about aren't really that widely known at all. For example, I remember sitting at Al Ahzar while he went to go wash up and two men came and asked me if I needed help. They asked me where I was from and I said, "Boston". They just looked at me so I added, "massachusetts". Again a blank stare so I said, "Home of the Red Sox!". Again...nothing so then I said "the United States" and then one looked like it rang a bell and the other was still blank so then the one who knew said to the other one "Amreeeeeeeeeka!" lol
