please help, do you have any idea why my avr update suddenly changed? the last time i checked, it's been telling me my case got completed last November 8, 2010. But just now I checked it, it changed, and it's telling me my NVC checklist arrived there last Oct 28, 2010 pls allow 6-8weeks etc etc... Why is it like that well in fact I had my case completed already and as far as I can remember my checklist arrived there around October 19-20 coz I am really monitoring my papers. Now I am all worried, did it go back to stage one? :(

Things worth having are worth waiting for. Go for it! Be persistent, no matter what. Keep believing. Keep the faith! ♥

They probably scanned your AOS packet, to be sure of it. trying to hold Operator & speak about your AVRS message. Good luck Bangla bhai.

Can someone please tell me what is this status message means?

"A packet of information and documents was generated on ........ will be sent within the next few weeks. Please follow the instructions carefully and return the information to the address provided. If 6 weeks has passed and ..........."

Now I am done with DS3032 and got the confirmation as a choice of agent via email from NVC.

I have paid (status = PAID) and sent the AOS documents (and were received by NVC as FedEx delivered it 2 weeks ago).

I have paid (status = PAID) and sent the IV documents (and were received by NVC as FedEx delivered it a week ago).

Should I hear something else? I am bit unclear about the status. Any suggestions?

AVR is slow to update and sometimes confusing. About the only other update you can expect to hear from now until you leave NVC is if they generate an RFE (or Checklist Letter as the NVC calls it) or that your case is complete.

Given what you accomplished to this point, they are just waiting to receive your I-864 and DS-230 as soon as you can send them in.

So should I assume that the AOS (with I-864) and IV (with DS-230) with other supporting documents are waiting in the mail room as both were delivered to and received by NVC? I mean that's what the FedEx tracking number states!!! In that case, I have to wait for the turn when they will open my packets, review them, and decide to either send for RFE or approve it?

Any average timeline for this to happen (from the day it went to the mailroom vs RFE/Approval? Also one more thing, I sent the AOS and IV package seperately. I've seen few sending it together, but as the bill was generated and paid sequentially, I took "First come, first serve" approach. I hope that's not a big of a deal?

Don't thank me yet...I didn't catch the second half of your sentences where you said the packages we're already sent and received by NVC...so now I can give you a better answer, having read the second half of the sentences :bonk: .

The AVR has never acknowledged receipt of anything I've sent to NVC. It's only updated for very selective events. In fact, my AVR message is still talks about an RFE they sent out over a month ago, and I just got a SIF.

You are fine sending in the packages separately too...though that may trigger another confusing (and irrelevant) AVR message about not receiving the I-864, if they happen to open the DS-230 package first...it's not a very tight system.

As far as a timeline goes, a good ballpark would be between 14 and 21 days...but YMMV.

Best of luck and hope it goes speedy for you.

Don't thank me yet...I didn't catch the second .........

This is exactly what happened and I came to the realization after a short hiccup. As usual I was checking the messages and it got changed today saying ".... after reviewing your documents we found certain information missing or incorrect and we've sent you a mail". Of course I missed a heart beat and finally spoke with an operator. She was really nice and told me exactly what went wrong. They got my AOS but did not get the IV. As I said that I mailed the IV separately after few days, I am guessing it will reach them in few days as well. Once I told her that I mailed the IV docs few days after the AOS, she told me that do not worry and if you sent all the documents, ignore the mail. The other good thing that came out of the wonderful lady is that AOS was accepted without any issue (which I assumed :D anyway).

So there you go now. Thanks for the at least giving me the heads up. Not on what can happen, but what can go wrong.

Hello, this morning the automated message was changed to something like this "NVC has received the checklist of response on <yesterday's date>, please allow us 6 to 8 weeks for reviw of this information and then you will be notified". I am glad and relieved that they have received both the mails now (the second one has all the originals !!!!!!). I guess now it's how long this will take them to review and figure if I missed any other documents!!!!! I hope not!!!! but let's see what happens next. If it is approved, I am guessing the next mail after the approval would be on such and such date an interview date has been fixed..... yeiiiii.
