Biometrics for minir child

Anyone else experience a biometrics appoinment for AOS for a minor child (11 yrs. old).

I didn't think biometrics was required but yet we have an appointment letter...

I believe the age 'cut-off' is under five.

My son was 13 at time of biometrics. What will happen is that the child doesn't have full biometrics done, just the forefingers (I think) and a photograph (which is needed for the greencard). At my appointment we went in together and although different people did our prints we were still in the same room.

Nope, I didn't pay for my son's either. You only pay if they are 14 and over. I look on it as a freebie from USCIS!
