Does anyone here have any information about the Embassy in Toronto? I need to head down there this weekend with my wife and son to get his US citizenship paperwork taken care of. We're wondering if there is a hotel in the near vicinity that we can just take a quick cab ride or walk without a whole lot of difficulty. Any suggestions? Thanks...

Also, there is only one US Embassy in Canada. It's in Ottawa. I think you'll want to ask for information about the US Consulate in Toronto. Try their website.

Hi, you can't take a cab directly to the consulate doors as the street is closed off and it's pedestrian traffic only (not sure if this is for security reasons or not)

The easiest thing to do is to take the subway (tons of hotels are on the subway line) and get off at St.George. Then walk west on Queen W to Simcoe St. ( about a 2 minute walk ). From Simcoe (starts at Queen ) you will walk North. The consulate is on the right hand side and easy to find. The walk only takes about 7 minutes from start to finish.

I have never seen a line up there- and you don't need a letter to enter- just your ID. But the same rules apply about cell phones and liquids that exist in Montreal.
