Hi,

I filed my AOS back in Feb. 2007. After 8 months, the last notice I received was a transfer notice from the Chicago office to California Service Center in March. Ok, so the processing time should be 6 months. This morning I called the 800 number and told them about my situation. The lady is going to send the inquiry to the local immigration office for an interview. Has anyone experience the same thing before? What else can I do (well, I already called the 800 number and sent out the inquiry)?

Please help! Thanks.

6 months shouldn't be too bad but I don't know how long the transferee's to California are waiting now. Most of the time you just get the card without the interview. Good Luck

Did she tell you if you had to wait any period of time before seeking additional assistance with your petition? If you aren't satisfied with the progress I suggest you contact one of your U.S. Senator's office. Good luck

Also infopass at your local office. USCIS website has the details of how to schedule an appointment.

Before we moved I was stuck at New Orleans DO which since hurricane Katrina has had mind boggling long delays in processing, I infopassed at 6 months and 12 months. Both times it was "your still in the queue".

At the very least it is nice to just know that you havent been forgotten. Very best of luck to you.
