OK, I've seen on here that people will print out pages and pages of online chat history. How much is really needed? For his interview, I sent my fiance several pages of it (some from a year ago, some more up-to-date) but it's certainly not the entire log! That would be a huge book!!

I've also sent a few sweet e-mails we've sent, some pages from my phone bill (again some from a year ago, some from now), plane tickets, boarding passes, about 30-40 photos, my letter of intent, and a couple other misc. items. But now I'm wondering if that's enough...

Also, off the subject, but when can he get his police certificate? He hasn't received his packet 3 yet, but it's on the way.

The police certificate is valid for 1 year from issue and takes around 40 days to get. I would suggest he go down to his local police station and order one ASAP as the mail strike might delay his receiving it. I am planning to use similar relationship proof as you except a few less pictures. We didn't get that many pictures as most of the time it was just the 2 of us and so we didn't take that many.

I loaded my husband down with piles of evidence. I submitted at least 2 copies of emails and chat logs for each month of our relationship to show the date span, all our phone logs, all boarding passes, all my ticket stubs, all my financial recipts to show I was in Morocco blah blah, every single photo of us together, all original snail mail correspondence (cancelled envelopes) so on and so forth. The whole package wound up being about 2 inches thick. At the time, our consulate was notorious for denying people based on lack of evidence. I wasnt about to send him in there with anything less than overkill. IMO, the inteview is your chance to prove your relationship, knock 'em dead. I would draw the line at bringing a whole file cabinet (i.e. dont make the pile so huge your fiance' cant lug it around easily). Just my $.02

For UK applicant - I would guess you need very little. For my fiancee from Colombia she took 4 or 5 chat records, 2 or 3 letters and nothing more (no pictures just the 2 I had sent with the petition). Don't worry. Good Luck

I haven't gotten to that stage yet, but in my case I know Nigeria is apt to deny or put people on AR for evidence issues. I plan to send EVERY e-mail, EVERY e-card, ALL snail mails with the postmarked envelopes, ALL call logs, ALL calling card receipts, EVERY photograph of us together, ALL receipts of currency exchange, boarding passes, hotel receipts.

In essence, EVERY SINGLE SCRAP of evidence we have to prove the relationship.

England may be easier, but if the CO he gets woke up on the wrong side of the bed . . . . .

Better safe than sorry, IMO.

Best wishes on your interview.

We had very few pictures, we do better talking about taking pictures than actually taking them :P

Nancy is Canadian which I believe has been a big help in this whole crazy process, when she was at the Hong Kong consulate she got quite worried because we didnt have tons of pictures like she saw the other people with. She said they gave the Filipinas a hard time form the things she could overhear.

She had a few cards I had sent, some pictures, various emails and chats from different times in our relationship, and of course the passport stamps from her visits to me (she made 4 trips total to see me). Their major concern at the consulate was how often did we talk or see each other, her answer to the lady was "a few seconds ago, my fiance is ####### :P", I was like "hey!!" after she told me.

I personally don't think there can be enough documentation. Claudeth went to the interview with three three-ring binders full of stuff only because she is petite and couldn't carry any more

There is a line of thought that too much evidence is NOT a good idea. I think that you should have a few significant and important things that CANNOT be faked such as phone bills, visa stamps, receipts etc. A chat log can be faked, so can emails- and they know this. I think it is okay to show that stuff, but as secondary evidence. We did not include any emails or chat logs as evidence.

Another tip... organize everything, include a 'table of contents' for your evidence that explains what it all means (and a cover letter). Also, have tabs that separate each 'section' to help the reader get through it more quickly. It took us a month to get to the packet 3 stage, and I think the speed came from the fact that we didn't overload them with information and had everything very organized and clear.

Here is what I included...

Proof of having met in person:

1. Photos (FIVE).

2. Passport stamps from Petitioner’s passport showing entrance into Argentina on 09/23/06 and exit on 12/16/06.

3. Petitioner’s plane ticket to Argentina on 1/06/07.

4. Passport stamps in Petitioner’s and Beneficiary’s Passports documenting return trip from Uruguay to Argentina on 1/17/07.

5. Beneficiary’s Telephone Bill showing calls to Petitioner’s US Phone number, the same number entered under ‘Daytime telephone number’ on form I-129F page 3.

6. Invitation to Engagement Dinner and restaurant receipt for said dinner.

We did a bit of what most would say "overkill" the second time as my fiancee was denied the K1 for lack of proof of a "bonafide relationship" the first time.

With the K3! 40 pics, one year of AT+T almost daily phone records, weekly snail mails, couple screen prints and couple chats and emails from each month.

Wife had a brief case full of standing by in case they wanted to see more.

Life insurance policy, trust, joint bank account also.

Believe me when I say!

It wasn't much fun getting shot down.

Hope no one has to do a 2nd trip.

More ammo the better!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

I think it is better to send a little bit of each.

We sent 6 pictures, 5 emails + translations, a birthday card + translation, a phone bill, used calling cards, AMEX receipt showing purchase of on-line PIN number (for phone calls), a letter from a friend talking about our love, a hotel receipt + translation (w/ business card)....

But we both had so much more since we're quite sentimental!!

At the interview we were loaded with proof but were only asked to see pictures...

The above does not include proof of meeting.
