I suggested that Lucky's comments in this thread being limited to insulting one-liners demonstrates his unwillingness to discuss the topic that he started. Others took the time to respond in detail based on their experience - he chose to ignore them completely. I think that's quite rude. IMHO.

Exactly.:yes: I like Rich even though we disagree on many things, but as long as I've known him here - he rarely if ever engages into much a debate. Instead he likes to throw verbal hand grenades to provoke people. It's hard to tell if he ever takes himself too seriously.

I had to go to work guys. Pardon me for having to leave for work at 5 am. If I was on welfare would you guys like me better? :(

edit: PST West Coast!!!

If you cross the border illegally, I'll invite you over for dinner.

deal!!! border=CA... right?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

What ya gonna give me if I rob a bank? Or better yet what ya gonna do if your kid steals a dollar from you? Make her pay it back or call it even?

What ya gonna give me if I rob a bank? Break in to your house? Tell me to go back where I came from.

Dealing with the problem is always better after the damage is done, right?

After all a bad guy can only be recognised after the fact.

If it involves risking your life through treacherous desert, there will be a second helping of dessert just for you. ;)

I live in the most conservative state in the Union in the most progressivly liberal town in that state. This is a letter from the President of our University that we recieved just recentally. Is this a good example of what the topic is about?

FROM: Timothy P. White, President

DATE: October 11, 2007

SUBJECT: University of Idaho Civility Statement and Upcoming Events

The University has a principled statement on civility that was originally issued a few years ago. It has served our community well, and a copy is attached for your convenience.

I ask that you distribute the statement, along with this e-mail, to the faculty, staff and students in your area of primary responsibility.

The reason for the request is two-fold. First, we have many new members of our University community who may not be familiar with the statement. Second, from time to time events arise that call for us to raise to top-of-mind our expectations for civility among all members of the University family.

The week of October 22–26, 2007, a national movement has scheduled activities that apparently are to be targeted against the Islamic community. We seek to be clear that any actions or statements of bigotry or intolerance that might emerge in association with this or any organized event are in conflict with the ideals and principles we uphold in our community.

Thank you.
