Just trying to get some accurate info for a friend. If someone is on government assistance....and they have a co-sponsor....will they have a good chance of being approved for the K1 visa and AOS? I tried searching for info, but no luck.

The best you can do is try but I wouldn't hold out much hope unless the joint sponsor is actually committing to support the intending immigrant. Otherwise how does one expect to convince anybody the immigrant won't become a public charge?

I can see success with a wealthy sponsor that is a close relative or best friend type. Otherwise, I'm thinking, "What was your friend thinking?"
