police certificate with fingerprints

hi all,

my fiancé just got his fingerprints for his police check done about a month ago. the rcmp website says it'll be about 4 months. i notice that most of the government timelines for things here in canada are only half of the projection time. has anyone else applied for the fingerprint one and how long did it take to get it back?

my husbands took 10 1/2 weeks... when we sent for it, we included a letter from my husband explaining where we were in the process and ,asking as nicely as possible, if there was anyway to get them back sooner than the 4 months..we asked to get them back "in 8 to 10 weeks, if possible"..we got them at 10 1/2...

at the time we thought we were very close to NOA2 and then Packet 3 (ended up getting caught in a 4 month backlog with VSC)... so we panicked because we had overlooked how long it would take to get the fingerprint check back...

When I had mine done the RCMP site said 4 months and since that would have put me past the expiration date on the NOA-2 I called the Consulate and they said they would give an extention as the RCMP told them 7 month and the Consulate told me I would get it around October I did in fact get the certificate I bleive March 3 days after talking with the consulate and 70 days after sending in the forms.

thanks guys! also, wondering if anyone had any problems with the rcmp sending their check back? ours was sent back stating that we didn't need to pay for police checks based on canadian immigration or passports, though the officer at the station clearly checked off "us visa". don't know if this will cause a problem, but we called them just in case. we got a call back the next day from a lady saying that we had called the main switchboard and gave us the correct number to call. she said they were so far behind that it would take around 5 days to receive a call back. it's been 2 weeks and they still haven't called. maybe they're not calling because it's not important.

Someone I know did the fingerprint check in early June - through the Calgary Police Service. He hasn't received it back yet.
