Hey folks!

A doubt.

I have been reading all topics and documents I can and so far didn't quite understand the NVC process.

Our NOA2 arrived Set 14 and now it should be at NVC hands. What happens then?

I heard that NVC sends the petition to the consulate at the same day they communicate to us - since the process is electronic, but I also read in some timelines dates where the case has arrived and left NVC and then arrived at a later date to the consulate.

I'm from Brazil - but that makes any difference? I mean, the process is the same for everyone, right?

I was thinking in send the package 3 as soon as we hear our number case from NVC.

I thank you all for any help here.

I too do not understand how some posters knew when their case ARRIVED and LEFT the NVC  The only date we had from the NVC is the one that was on the notice.. I thought it was the date when it was received.. because it says "We have received the case and will forward it to the local consulate this week".

About sending package 3... I'm not sure if you can do this, because very Embassy works differently. In our case I had to wait for the Embassy to tell me which documents need to be submitted during the interview. But I don't know if in Brazil is possible to know the list of documents before they get in touch with you or even before they send you the package with the documents you must complete.

How do you know which documents you need to send?

Hi Eric!

Thank you for your reply!

There is a list on the Embassy website with the documents we need to send in Package 3 and 4, but I learned that reading VJ. Anyway, we still don’t have our number case! (gosh – it is so hard to wait, isn’t it?)

And by the way – I saw you have your interview scheduled! My best wishes of a super luck for you both!

Some Consulate will receive an electronic copy and the hard copy at a later date, while some will get only the hard copy. If you want to know when NVC receive your petition and when it leaves, ask them they'll tell you. You can email the embassy and inquier if they receive your petition, be sure to include the new case #. Check with the Brazil thread to see if anyone knows what is in packet 3. Then email the embassy to see if you can send in DS-230 part1.
