Hello,I have read everything,This is truly a great site...But i am working in Iraq,and i am Married to a girl in the Philipines...we married there...now we must start the process..is my only option to file for the I-130..first,then the 129-F..then go for the K-3 visa..for her in Manila...CONCERNS...1..living in iraq NOW>..house in Texas..rented..2. support for her...i am working now here in Iraq..but wont be here much longer..maybe 6 months..have savings..will i need co-sponsor..3. She is Expecting now as well..Restrictions on her going for Physical,and getting shots..or best to wait after the baby..Or best to get started and get to US..before baby...Any info on these things will help..it is difficult for me to do things here..so i will keep checking back here...Thanks...Dan

it is very unlikely that any visa process you would start for your wife now would be completed in time for her to move to the US to have the baby here, so figure on taking wife and baby with you. Even if you send everything today, it'll be about a year before its completed. They will waive vaccination and x-ray requirements at her medical if she is pregnant. She can have those done later in the US if necessary.

Do you have a job lined up in the US for when you return?

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

it is very unlikely that any visa process you would start for your wife now would be completed in time for her to move to the US to have the baby here, so figure on taking wife and baby with you. Even if you send everything today, it'll be about a year before its completed. They will waive vaccination and x-ray requirements at her medical if she is pregnant. She can have those done later in the US if necessary.

Do you have a job lined up in the US for when you return?

Thanks for the info..and No i dont have a job lined up..i was planning on working as long as i can,until the baby..then go to the Philipines and wait on the K-3 visa..and then i suppose i will have to file for the Baby?ASAP

If the baby is yours and you've lived in the US for at least 5 years with at least two years after you were 14, then the baby is already a US citizen and just needs a passport. If you haven't lived for 5 years in the US, there's still a process you can go through to get the baby a US passport I believe.

US Immigration Timeline

24 Feb 2007 - Sent I-130 to London USCIS office (I'm the petitioner)

25 May 2007 - NOA2

2 June 2007 - Received Packet 3

12 Oct 2007 - Sent Packet 3 back by special delivery

5 Nov 2007 - Interview in London - Approved without any hitches!

7 Nov 2007 - Visa and MBE arrived by SMS! :)

30 Jan 2008 - Fly to Michigan!! :)

*Note: Any delays in our case are only due to us taking things slowly

Wow, That is great news..Yes the baby is ours,we just got married a month ago,no i am back to work.yes i have lived in the US all my life..only this past year working in Iraq..Thanks so much

When the baby is born you'll need to register its birth abroad and apply for a passport with the nearest US consulate to where it is born.
