My husband has to submit the documents to vfs for our nov 6th interview. I want to know your guys experience with VFS. do you hand them all the documents, or just some and keep the most important ones..such as passport, I-134 with you.......... also that 15-10 day window period... does it clearly have to be working days...or any days. thanks.

My hubby went to the VFS office in Hyderabad, it was very easy. He just told the person at the window what visa he was applying for, and he handed over all the documents he had (it was EVERYTHING - from all the applications to the I-134 and job letters, pay stubs, bank info etc, to our old emails to photos, all originals and copies of everything too). The employee there will pick and choose what they want, checking off items on a list of what they kept (you will get a copy of it), and will return the unnecessary documents to you. Each office is different, in Hyd they took practically everything he gave; in other offices they only want a few things and return most other paperwork, saying you can give it at the interview.

At the interview, important originals will be returned to you (like birth certificate, I-134 etc.).

The 10-15 day window period, as specified in the instructions, includes only WORKING days, not including weekends or holidays.

In B'lore they would not take the relationship evidence, they said take them to the interview.

They took the Police cert. and Birth Cert. and notarized I-134, copy of PP. and Rs. 365 the courier fee.

they have mentioned

"Visit the visa application centre no earlier than 10 working days and no less than 7 working days before the scheduled interview appointment. Applicant must submit all the documents to VFS as specified in the “Appointment package” or “ Packet 4” (those which pertain to your case) on any working day and pay in the Courier Fees. "

i am confused with 10-15 days opposed to 7-10 days in this vfs website.wht shld one rely on?

would appreciate if seniors could enlighten !!!

Yes it is confusing but I would go with the written instructions that the Consulate sends directly to the applicant, in Packet 4.
