I have a question......if someone doesn't have home insurance how do they insure their ring?

You can get a personal articles policy from most ins companies.

Mind you, even if you DO have homeowner's or renter's ins, if the ring exceeds your policy limits, it might be condusive to take out an addtl personal articles policy on the ring anyways

ETA: I'd be a living wreck if my ring wasn't insured! And the annual bill comes due this month too

It's not for me. I'm selling a ring and I put in the ad that I will insure it. What I meant was that when I ship it I'll get insurance....not insure the ring. Now I think I'm screwed so I have to quickly look for a way to insure this ring for whoever buys it.

Sending a pkg insured is much different than obtaining personal insurance. I don't think a personal articles policy is going to cover you selling the ring and keeping the policy for transfer.

I would say that your best method would be to use the ring's appraisal as a $$$ figure to insure through the shipping company. CHECK THE FINE PRINT FIRST!

It's not too terribly expensive to insure a ring, I just don't like paying it I have several personal articles policies that come due this time of year so I'm always grumpy, lolz. Of course, the figure depends on the type of coverage and your policy limits.

you need to specify the insurance is for shipping. otherwise you could have problems down the line. and it's not a significant cost to insure for shipping.

Yeah you need to modify the listing....but based on the context of what you said about ins immediately after the shipping terms,I see there's no wayany logical person would assume you're supplying ins for life....I would assume you meant to ship.

If you send it via USPS you can easily purchase $1200 worth of insured value when you send it.... Figure roughly $1.00 per $100 dollars of insured value

if i have a chance to modify the ad so i will .. but if for any reason i'm not able to modify it so i think i will end the auction early and relist it .

some auction sites consider the auction a contract between the buyer and the seller then you can't wait untill someone wins it to tell him it has been sold for someone else .
